Currently I am doing Atkins which I find easy but not to rewarding. I limit carbs to 25 a day and calories to no more than 1200. Is this something I can add to my diet already in place? I am 5'4 and currently at 158 from 188 with Atkins but I'm in a slump with no real loss recently. Thanks

IMHO, only you can answer your question. You will find lots of people here who love 5:2 fasting, just like you will find lots of people on the Atkins site who love Atkins. You know yourself best and are best qualified to answer your question.

As jknight said, nobody but you can say if you should switch. I'd just add that 5:2 is a separate system and doesn't work with other daily-deficit plans. In 5:2, your only deficit is during fast days.

You could choose to eat LCHF for your macros as you do 5:2 and end up with pretty similar food though. I guess depending on what stage of Atkins you're used to.

If you haven't already done so, check out the Mosely Documentary on this group's main page under Announcements. It will give you good information to help you make your decision.

There are others in this group that eat LCHF. So you can eat LCHF for your fast and feast days but I agree with @feisty_bucket that this plan is not meant to be combined with another plan where you run a calorie deficit.

Feel free to post more questions as they come up.
