hi! heading to gym, then to work. Have a employee recovering from surgery so I'm putting in some extra hours.
DH didn't want to cook last night, so I made pasta. And I have been having sucess in replacing french fries with veggies when I eat out. Yay!
Paula, I'm looking forward to this workout too. Keep getting better!

Paula - great song! Lovin' it! If we keep to upper body workouts during your recovery, we should all have tight, unflappable arms like Shelley, and Shelley will be extra strong! She will love it!

Chris this is just what I need as well. Going on vacation for my birthday in May and the weight loss has definitely made my arms even more saggy...is that a word. :) I'm going to do this challenge every week along with whatever challenges you give us.

I want to join the "unflappy" arms club. :D

Kathy - Congratulations on your weight loss! I love the "unflappy" arms club!

Chris - I accept your "junk-free-food Monday" challenge! Are we going to do it every week? Do we each draw the line? [for me, a few saltines help digestion but more trigger addiction]

Clara, So nice of you to cover for your employee. I send them sympathetic best wishes.

Paula - I understand the saltine cracker trigger...I have motion sickness and use peppermint candy to calm my stomach and ease the headache. It was never an issue before. One or two pieces during a long drive and I was fine...suddenly, I have to have one right after the other, all day long. So what if it tears up my mouth and brushing my teeth is painful...so what if there are little candy wrappers everywhere...in pockets, in the closed and clamped shut dog food bag, in the dishwasher, under the bathroom sink beside the trash can, all over my car, in the front yard...so what if I buy them by the five pound bags...two bags at a time. ugh! No more purchased...the only store that carries them is Rite Aid, so I will buy them on a NEED ONLY basis.

I can only eat what I brought to work and what I have written down. JUNK &/OR TRIGGER FOOD NOT ALLOWED TODAY! Yes, we should do this every week...

I have the gym tonight. I'm going to try and walk before I go to the gym...if it works out.

Hope you all have a great day.

Tennis practice for 60 minutes & I waked 1.25 miles while waiting for the library to open. There is a park right across from the library, which opened at 11:00 not 10:00 as I thought. I got there about 10:30 so instead of going home I went to the park and walked until it opened.

Then I went to tennis practice at 4:30. Our first match of the spring season is Sunday!

Paula & Chris - I so understand the cracker binge. I can eat a sleeve of saltines or Townhouse crackers. Salt not sweets is definitely one of my weaknesses,

Chris you rock. So nice to give Paula no excuses, I mean a routine she can do. B)o:) And since I have not been as good as I should, these exercises will be great. We are the unflappable team! I can just see you with all those mint wrappers! Muahaha! And I can even see the 5 pound bags. Chocolate comes in large bags also. I curve my chocolate fix with a fudge sickle at night time. Sounds like you and Kathy have a plan!

Paula I am in on the no junk food Mondays with you and who ever else. Chris, yes! Clara join us. Kathy are you in?

Clara I have been having more success adding in vegetables also. B)

Kathy you are so awesome! While saggy is not very attractive, I bet it is healthier. ;) And I know you can tone them up some by May. Great job on taking advantage of some extra cardio instead of staying in the car. :D Sunday is so close. Wishing you loads of luck!

Rocky bought me a pump for my new tank.It is submersible, quiet, did I say quiet? :D And can move 950 gallons per minute! Wow! Took the boys on a walk. My kitty is climbing onto me. :p What a pest!

Shelley sounds like your new pump is exactly what you wanted! Have a ton of fun with it!!

Kathy, good going with the walk around the park and the tennis practice. Good luck Sunday!

I did all of this tonight...egad! What a workout! Then had to explain to our trainer why my food diary looked so...incomplete last week. I'll be so glad when the 27th gets here. **stress** My weekend and today were really good. Need to up my water though.

Didn't get my miles done...edited papers for DD instead.

Hope everyone has a grand Tuesday!

Chris I really did not research the pumps. DH did it all on his own. I am just going with it. So when you retire you can get all your workouts done before breakfast. I heard you should workout early so you can burn extra calories all day. Instead of trying to burn them off after the fact. (*)

At follow-up appointment today, doctor read me riot act. I feel guilty if I'm not exercising the knee, but despite best efforts, I'm still losing my mobility and he's trying to scare me into more (and it's working). So today's workout was limited to only stretch & bend for operated knee. Very painful. He also doesn't want me to increase pain meds because of addictiveness. So I'm working on making it work.

    Best wishes to you all.

From my addled state of mind,

Paula, hang in there. My prayers are with you.
Off to work, have a great Tuesday everyone.

Shelley - hoping to go to the gym in the morning then walk with Bean. Looking forward to it!

Paula - ya gotta do what the doc tell you. More is good...hurty but good. I hope you are feeling better today.

Clara - you can do the NO JUNK OR TRIGGER FOOD CHALLENGE any day!! I've done it for the past four days, and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself.

The soreness form last night's workout is setting in! I'm editing DD's paper so no working out tonight. Should have edited it at lunch but I got invited out. Ordered chili that was way too spicy-hot for me. Brought it home...going to see what I can do with it.

I hope you all have a grand Wednesday!

Tennis practice again this evening...90 minutes...no challenge because I was in the office at 6:00 this morning then went straight to practice. Will get it done tomorrow after work.

Paula hang in I know it's tough and very painful. I believe you and my friends' mom had the same surgery within days of each other. Sending good thoughts your way.

Chris - no trigger foods today. Too busy. Going to bed before any cravings set in.

Good night everyone...have a great Wednesday...it will be a long one for me.

Paula when my DH had knee surgery when he was in his 20's they had him in this contraption that moved his leg! Egads! Just think of all the things you will be able to do if you listen to the doctor. You can do this.

Chris I bet you are getting butterflies!

Clara I always get the challenge late.

Kathy that made me smile! To busy for trigger foods! WOOHOO!

Got in a walk with my brown eyed boys. Still working on the clutter. Decided to get rid of some cake pans. I used to decorate. So there are lots of them! I can better use the space for my concrete paint and brushes. They seem to be in canvas bags hanging off of door knobs or on the bedroom floor! Seems silly when there are all these pans I rarely use taking up prime storage space.

Our contractor felt sorry for me (when I called in tears) and moved our furniture. The new recliner lets me (1) prop up ankle up + push down knee = straighten leg; and (2) while sitting, pull foot back & bend knee. Peace of mind is exponentially improved. And physical improvement is very noticeable.

No trigger foods - forgot to eat lunch today. That kind of day. Clara - I will challenge you to an additional "Trigger Free Friday Too" to make up for Monday! You on?

Kathy, please let your friend know I am sending her Mom well-wishes!

Shelley, kiss some warm wet noses for me, okay? (No, I do NOT mean Rocky!)

    Chris, yogurt cuts heat!

On for Trigger Free Friday Too!! That's one of the hardest days for me, since I get off early.

    Back later!

Okay, this is odd, but what is my role in life if not to entertain?

So a StainMaster commercial features a proud little french bulldog, with the biggest sloppiest grin on his face, wearing a sign that says "I marked my territory on the carpet It is MINE now." And for some reason, he reminds me of us, especially of a couple of us (no names).

If you could analyze why this always reminds me of you/us/me/together, suggestion are appreciated. (And "you're just goofy" is not an answer. We already know that...) Anyway, it's got me stumped! But it really does click, every time I see it.

Maybe cuz we're all so cute? (or stinkers)

Hello ladies :) I see everyone is doing their best to keep active and that just ROCKS!

Hubby went to 3rd last week. So far, so good. Not getting as much sleep but sleeping better. Does that make any sense, lol? He is a very light sleeper so he is up many times throughout the night but is only up maybe twice now that he is sleeping during the day.

I was really good last week and made it to the gym every day after work. :D This week not so much :\ back to working ten hours each day and getting home to dinner around 7pm is not very appealing to me.

Challenge x2 completed plus the 10k steps. I will take the bait on this trigger free Friday thingy also. Mine would be the vending machine cookies and M&M's. Once I start with either of them you can bet a second helping and maybe a third is not too far behind some days.

The snow and ice here is finally melting away <3 I can actually see my driveway again and even spotted some grass at work today. Almost ready to brave it and start my nightly walk again. Not sure if hubby will join me though with his new schedule.

    Have a fabulous night ladies.

I will accept the Friday No Junk or Trigger foods. I will be traveling to Baton Rouge, a 5 or 6 hour drive depending on traffic. But plan to pack healthy snacks and lunch so that should help. In Baton Rouge, going to be shopping with my DD for THE WEDDING DRESS! Yay!

Paula that is fabulous! So you can work out an arm while forcing your leg to move. Pretty smart. B) Paula Cooper loves to sit in my lap and put his nose into the air. He does this while pressing against me so I kiss his forehead. I remember watching him and his first mommy do that. I always thought it was so cute. <3
Paula I am going with the were all so cute. Not my other option of we all mark our territories. :s And your roll in life is still to entertain. Now though you entertain us! muahaha

Chris so glad it is you and all those little bundles of energy and not me. Want to borrow some cuffs? o:) No trigger food Friday. I can do this. I am in.

Lynette you rock. And leave your pocket change at home tomorrow. o:)

Clara the wedding dress! awesomeness for sure. And then the mother of the brides dress! :D

I walked the boys again today. Have been feeling poorly. I have an appointment to see a doctor next month. I do not have a primary one so I have to do that first. I have been having some issues for awhile. You all have heard me comain about my headaches. Well the other symptoms are suspiciously alot like vertigo. So I am going to look into it.

    Warning

When I grow old I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
    And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

    Jenny Joseph

My favorite poem of all time.

Shelley -- didn't see your post until just now! The kids were extra special and very polite...their teacher...my pretty terrific DD...warned them to be good. They want us to come back! Exhausting though. Last week I offered to order her 29 cages from Amazon Prime...two day delivery, you know. She need four of them to be sound proof...that would have taken longer. Cuffs would have helped her last week...I'm sure!

    Today was a good day!

Just finished this week's workout - one set only but my arms are almost too tired to hold my hands on the keyboard, so I''m expecting the endorphins to kick-in any minute. Hope they don't interact with the oxycodone the doctor gave me for pain

Googled oxycodone and found out I may be dependent already (it can happen in weeks-months) but I am not addicted. Dependency is when the side effects (sweats, breathing, emotional affects) are felt; but addiction is when you MUST have the next dose, whereas I keep forgetting until it wears off and the pain kicks in... Owwwww....

Lynnette - Does 3rd mean night shift? I'm glad ur DH is sleeping better albeit less. How long does it take to readjust?

Clara - have so much fun wedding-dress shopping. Sounds like the No Trigger Food Friday came just in time. I thought it would be easy but found myself eating crackers for no reason today, uh oh. Remember - this is in addition to Chris' No Trigger Food Monday!

Mommy Shelley - Cooper is smart and sweet. Can you give him a cuddle for me? Mmmmm....

Chris, The red hat club used to walk thru HMB in their purple dresses and red hats. Proud and deserving.

Ahh, endorphins, there they are. :drinker:
 good night all! Paula :flowerforyou:

Completed the challenge x2 yesterday. I've been so tired I've been going to bed very early and forgetting to post...best sleep I've had in a long time. It's been raining so much we haven't been able to practice.

    Clara - congrats...wedding dress shopping...so exciting.

Paula - your arms are going to be monsters! Keep up the good work!

Chris - what a fun day with the kids & your daughter.

    Lynette - you,re doing fabulous!

Shelley - take care of yourself. I hope your doctor's appointment goes well.

    Have a great Friday ladies!

Paula if you could see my flabby arms you'd understand. :) Hope you enjoy your rest day. I'm debating taking one myself on Saturday before the tennis match on Sunday but the rain has made it impossible to practice a lot this week. I have a feeling I may get a call to practice for a short while today. If so I will go for an hour.

    Enjoy the weekend!

Paula when you sleep you are healing...you'll get your muscles back. Don't push it. Do what the doc tells you to do...or not do!!

Kathy good job on the workout!!

So far I've walked 5 miles with DH and Bean then 4+ by myself. I swallowed a gnat today...ugh! Good thing I learned to spit! 21,518 steps so far. DH and I are going to go to the bookstore a little later (I love the bookstore!) and I still have to go shopping. I'm looking to get a few more steps in there.

It's beautiful here today! High clouds, warm sun. <3

Apologies for being such a wuss. Here is a wonderful workout, just perfect for me, and I haven't been faithful. My knee exercises are very painful and then I want to curl up and sleep. I am not valiant enough to do the workout which would be so beneficial. Sorry!

I was good on avoiding trigger foods on Friday. Had crackers, but only a few and only when necessary, not for fun. Hope everyone else did well too.

    Curling up now.
