Glanced around for some info on effects of low carb diet and read about how it can negatively impact thyroid function and increase adrenal stress (causing additional cortisol). Any thoughts from you guys? Please note, I'm not attacking anything and I'm currently consuming under 100 carbs. Just looking for thoughts and discussions.

Might be a good idea to ask over at the Thyroid forum.

I would be curious of the answers as I am hypothyroid.

My husband has Hashimoto's and has lost 100 lbs. eating low carb. With Hashimoto's his thyroid is usually hypo but sometimes switches to hyper. I don't think his diet really affects it. OTOH, I have read the same thing as you and I have some signs of subclinical hypothyroidism. So I tend to try and have one higher calorie day a week (1700-1800 instead of 1400) for thyroid support. IIRC, I read about the higher calorie day on the Maria Mind Body Health website.

My endocrinologist is the one who suggested LCHF to help support my hypothyroidism. So this is counter to what he's told me. I've not had any conflicts or problems, and I've been fully LCHF since 1/15/15.
