Hello! No workout for me yesterday because I had to work both jobs, but I admit I didn't workout on Tuesday either, and I had no excuse. I had the time. No slacking today! I will work out after work.0

Marla - I like the notes idea! I think, I need to find some kind of indulgence that doesn't require food. Like, maybe buying myself a new book when I'm really feeling low. Or something like that. I think I'll need to ponder that for a bit, but it would be a good change to my thinking.
Sherry - that is so awesome that your son wants to stay healthy! My daughter is part of the running club and both she and middle child want to do a triathlon. Oldest still won't ride a bike though, and middle child still won't swim. But I want to work with them this summer a bit.
Last night I was frustrated because I got everything ready to work out, went to bed on time, and was almost asleep. But my hubby, who is not great with time management, ended up bustling about the room for the next hour getting things ready for his interview this morning. My frustration was that he had spent most of the day dunking around on his computer doing stuff he didn't need to do and then kept me up until midnight because he hadn't gotten his interview stuff ready. But, I know he's nervous about this interview, so I had to just make do. No bike this morning for me is the result. I usually have tomorrow as a rest day, but I'm going to do it tomorrow instead. I didn't get workouts in at all on Sunday or Monday (or most of last week due to illness) so I should be fine skipping my rest day a bit tomorrow.
Health-wise things are definitely improving for me again. Almost back to 100%. Littlest one had his evaluation, but we won't find out anything until our meeting next wedensday. It will be a long week. I had a good time with my grandma. She's doing better, although still a little cranky at times. But that's understandable since she can't do much of anything on her own right now.
I'm still getting a swim in today and doing my upper body weight lifitng. So It's not like I'll be a slug!
Have a great Thursday!0 -
Hi all! Well I'm glad I waited to check in, because earlier it would've been a real downer, as I woke with a headache that stayed with me all day til just the last hour or so (and still, I feel on the cusp of a headache). Feeling happier now. Anyway, son was eager to run today and since he had no homework, I snuck him out of the tutor while lil girl was busy and he ran and did the equipment at the park, before I returned him for some extra work from the tutor in grammar. At the park, I ran and along came my friend (an older gentleman, like maybe 80, who runs consistently and seems to be in great shape--I sure have a hard time keeping up with him!). We struggled to communicate, but ran together and eventually my son came along and ran with us and translated some. At one point our friend made a really big deal of something my son said...like very proud of him and looking at me like I was doing something right, and I asked son what he had said, he said that he was saying to our friend, "There is no finish line, it's for being healthy for life."
I was very proud!!
Son and I ran 3mi at park. After I took son to tutor, I ran another 2mi to the pet store to get special food for my cats and across the street to Intersport I got a little running belt for I.d. and keys b/c I think my backpack is hurting my posture. Then next door for bday gift for sons schoolmate. I got it all done in time to get the tram back to tutor and do grocery shopping with the kids. Made my kids favorite baked spaghetti for dinner and now about to work on some more projects here at home.

Thursday's workout was 40 minutes on the elliptical. I had wanted to meet with a beginner's running group, but it was raining, and I don't care much for running in the pouring rain!0
