Hi my name is Carole. I am nearly 62 and was on this team last year. I had so many health issues in 2014, became discouraged and deactivated my account and learned within a few days that that was not the wisest move for me! I need the structure and tracking as well as PEOPLE! I struggle with adrenal fatigue, tanked hormones and hypothyroidism but have been under a good doctor's care and I am back with renewed passion to "get 'er done!" I follow the Primal/Paleo Diet (lower carb version) and I'm looking for somewhat older folks like me who are on the same journey (since there are unique challenges to losing weight as we age!) I am open, however, to being friends with anyone on this team, even if we aren't following the exact same path because after all, we have the same GOAL...lose weight and stay healthy! Feel free to friend me and I will do likewise. I feel badly that I didn't copy my former friend list because there are a couple of people I have lost contact with that I enjoyed. One of them was a gal named "Switzer?" Anyway...that's my story and I'm sticking to it! God bless you all

Welcome Carole. I'm not exactly a retread because I've been here almost 3 years. Initially, I had to go gluten free and found a great MFP group that helped with that; then I was told that I was a half-pound from being obese and THAT got me going. Going gluten free changed my life--for the first time in my (then) 63 years I started sleeping through the night without drugging myself so I wouldn't cough all night and several other issues, too. Anyway, I must be bored because I'm starting to put the weight back on, getting discouraged and depressed. I think I need to start at the beginning just like you. I've looked at the Paleo Diet and didn't think it was for me. I would be curious to see some of your meals and maybe rethink that issue. I'm going to send you a Friend Request and hopefully, you'll accept it and we can continue on this journey together.

Welcome back Carole. I eat low GI, and as close to 40c/30p/30f as possible, so not too far from Paleo. I limit gluten because I have a sensitivity to it, prefer quinoa for grain dishes but I do eat some rice, jasmine and brown ones from time to time. I'll send you a request as my diary is only open to my friends these days.
