Laura - I agree with April, you're doing fantastic with your runs!
April - We all have times like this. I just try to remember that this isn't just a diet...its a lifestyle. That means there will be days of indulgence because life is messy. It gets busy, or stressful, and the only thing you can do is pick yourself up and start fresh today!
Yesterday went very well! I took a nice hike with my hubby and kids, and then proceeded to clear out our bedroom and the kids rooms of all junk. Especially in our bedroom we haven't gone through stuff and it's just accumulated everywhere. I've been going through the corners of our house that have gotten cluttered. looked at what is collecting there, and finally started coming up with ways to organize all that stuff. The house is a complete mess...but today we'll pick up. But now everything is cleared out, so I feel very happy about that! This Friday and Saturday we'll have a garage sale...and whatever I don't sell I'm donating or throwing away. Keeping busy all day kept my eating in check. I was so absorbed in what I was doing I didn't even think about snacking. I even had extra calories for a small bowl of ice cream.
I did not go for my long run yesterday or my bike today. But mainly because while I'm feeling much better, I have been getting fatigues very quickly. That and volunteering at the Springfest and the hiking kept me on my feet for long periods of time. I feel confident with my decision to sleep in a bit and let my muscles have a chance to recover.
Have a fantastic Sunday everyone!0 -
Val those organizational projects are exhausting - but man having them done is gratifying. I have an odd room off my kitchen that has basically become a storage room and between that and my basement I have a ridiculous amount of clutter. Later this spring I intend to rent a dumpster and start purging. Anything worth donating will go to Goodwill. I've been in my house for 14 years. It sounds like you're getting in a workout, even if it isn't a structured one.
My foot was sore this morning but within the normal range (because it's sore almost every morning) and nothing like what I felt last Sunday. My legs are also letting me know I worked hard yesterday.
Rest day today but my house is a mess so soon I'm going to get up off the couch and start pulling things together. It's supposed to be unseasonably warm here so hope to get the windows open later and air out the house.0 -
Hey all! Spring cleaning time, huh? The "projects" I've said I've been working on here have been exactly that too. I can only do it when DH isn't here, otherwise he vetoes everything and I stir up a big mess but never get to get rid of anything. I made the mistake of boxing some stuff to go right before he left and he saw it, went through it, and it went from being a box of stuff to get rid of, to being s box of stuff to keep. *facepalm* Its really hard in an apartment with no garage or basement or guest room or shed or even a yard to drag everything out to so you can clean and put it all back. You can't imagine our mess! Lol! And now he'll be coming home with a couple of suitcases full of stuff my MIL sends. Sigh, where do I put it all?! Grrr.
Took the kids to the schoolmates bday party but it ended up being ~45min walk away, and then back again, so I def got my steps today and my legs are bothering me a bit, which they tend to do on multiple consecutive rest days, probably need a good stretch. Anyway, I'm pooped and need to get dinner ready, the kids cleaned up, and everything ready for school tomorrow.
Have a good one0 -
Laughing at these tales of cleaning---I'm a ruthless tosser & hubs is a hoarder! We argued this afternoon about his CASSETTE TAPES. Yes, really.
No workouts this weekend & that's exactly why I signed up for Sat Pilates in the first place (sessions over).
Had dinner with friends tonight at a restaurant family style, and I stopped right before I was full. I did pick up a small ice cream on the way home. Then got sucked into TV show and having cheese and crackers and nuts. I really just need to eat protein shakes or protein bars when I'm hungry.
Broke down & shaved legs for the first time since Xmas. Hate shaving.0
