Excerpt: You must wrap your brain around this. This is not about weight loss. This is not about “getting in shape.” This is about lifestyle overhaul. This is about changing who you are.

Fitness is not a list of actions. It is someone you become. Work on becoming a fitness-focused person, and reap the benefits.

Good reminder. I was complaining to my trainer this morning that I hadn't lost any weight in the last couple of weeks. He reminded me that isn't necessarily my goal right now. We're working on strength and mobility. Every single thing he gave me to do today was vastly improved over a month ago. And my body is getting leaner. AND I'm not starving all the time. ;)

Its taken me a long time to realise i am changing my life and this is all now my life and not a quick fix to lose weight and then become sedentary. i will never give up exercise again and never let myself go!

It´s true! The more you move, the more you also want to move. The lazier you get, the easier it is to go (back) into couch potato mode. I always wanted to be a runner, but I hate running. So I tried every now and then and gave up very fast, because it just wasn´t what I like. Now I started walking around 8 weeks ago and walk every day. Started with around two kilometers, now I walk at least 4, try to reach 6. It´s fun and I think this is they key to consistency: find something you actually like. If you have to force yourself, the battle is already lost.

Perfectly said. You have me intrigued. I am 34 years old and just learned that I have a inverted bowel. Now, if your looking that up you may not find anything about it, it is very rare.
I found out that it may not be able to be fixed with surgery. My gastroenterologist explained that it may be something that I need to learn to live with. So, I have decided to make some life changes.
I also want to set a good example for my children and get my family involved. We have always been healthy eaters like fruits, and vegetables. I always enjoy how it is a welcomed treat for my kids to eat a salad with me!
I do need some help. My Dr. wants me on a low protein diet, and cut out the dairy. If anyone has any pointers I welcome them. I also recently took on jogging.

If low protein is required, confirm it's just protein, or low meat, there is a difference, and I can see meat being an issue with digestion since it can take awhile anyway.
    But there are other proteins.

If he really meant low protein, get exact figures.

But that means you have a body already under stress, and less protein won't help in a diet.

Which means you need to take even a smaller deficit for weight loss, to not add additional stress.
Jogging means you are burning more too, so higher eating level.
If that is difficult, something to think about.
