I think I'm addicted to macadamia nuts. I've only had one 11oz bag so far. (No, not all in one sitting.) Liked them so much, I went to Costco to see if they had them in bulk. Apparently, they're "seasonal" at my Costco, and they didn't have them in stock.

But they had Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Nut Clusters. (Cue "Jaws" theme music....)

What was I thinking?! 10g of sugar in each cluster. More sugar than I've had in a single meal in quite a while. That's what I call a Cluster ****. :)

My initial reaction was "mmmmm.... I clearly see the addictive nature of carbs now."

But the aftertaste of that sugar hit? Ugh. Pttttuey! I'm going to plant them someplace where my cow-orkers can find them.

Luckily, Trader Joe's had the Good Stuff in stock!

I visited a macadamia farm once but it was interstate so we couldn't bring any home with us :( WA (that's Western Australia, not Washington USA) are horrific with their customs, even within Australia. No honey, no bee products, no food, no plant products.

Glad you found some you can actually eat LOL

I can find them really all year round but they are quite pricey. I made the mistake of making a fat bomb with them....vanilla macadamia nut fat bomb.....I say mistake because I think I ate 4 serving at once.

My Costco has them right now, but I have some in my freezer for when they run out. I go in phases with them. Currently off most nuts right now.

Love mac nuts; fortunate to live in Hawaii where we can get them all the time and for pretty reasonable price. I find them more satiating than almonds.

J Bailor* promotes Macs and Brazils over all other nuts as highest fat and worth it! They are only in our HFS at $13.99 for 16 oz, and in a little foil bag as 'flavored' for $6. for 4 oz. the Mona Loa -GarlicOnion spiced ones are UNbelieveable…OMGhee….I had to make myself count them and spread out to every other day…so good. 217 cal for 10!!! nuts (32 gr). boohoo…they are a special treat for sure. In the 80s-90s I only saw themchoco-covered in gift boxes…friends coming back from HI were engorged on them..heheh. my friend said seeing a huge bowl in a hotel lobby with unlimited access kicked in every 'greed' signal she had, after handfuls she was ill from the fat load.

*Bailor is trending hot with a very well marketed appeal to young and old towards a modified LCHF..he's attracting them by not scaring them with BPC/bacon as salvation. And he will succeed …now the voice for a diabetes solution thru LC diet.

Decades ago the native Hawaiians considered them garbage not fit to eat.... Then someone got the bright idea to cover them in chocolate and sell them to tourists... The boom was on.

    <snort> cow-orkers

That's where I unload my carbage, too...it's omnipresent at my workplace. Exactly what I did with the Girl Scout cookies I just had to buy from the little cuties outside the grocery store the other day. ;-)
