So, we went camping.
I did mostly alright there, only fell to the siren call of candy bars once.
And then we got back home. I haven't felt like fixing anything, so I didn't bring anything for lunch yesterday or today. I ended up eating junk food yesterday, then making pork chops, gravy, and mashed potatoes (because they needed to be used up) for dinner.
Apparently I'm having trouble getting back on track after being out of town. I have plenty of veggies & ground beef & chicken thighs, I just don't feel like doing anything with them.
How do you force yourself to get back on track?

I look at my long history of off and on, and then my life since i got on my plan and refused to drop back off. I like my life since losing over 210 pounds MUCH better. Take a few minutes to gather yourself up, plan a menu for the next 2 days include your favorites, and get back on.0

L: Lunch meat & havarti when I get homeFishies. I'll cover hubbies in alfredo and bacon so he doesn't complain too much. I need to make mayo so I can have tartar sauce. I also need to do the freakin' dishes so I CAN cook easier.
Tomorrow:
L: Tuna (or leftover fishie) salad at workParmesan chicken for dinner with bagged veggies.
Friday:

I was pretty loose with my carb intake when we went on vacation. Gained some weight that week, too. Was very happy to get back home where I had more control over my diet, and became even more carb-vigilant than pre-vacation.
Push whatever reset button works for you. Some people go back to the "induction phase" of Atkins, for example.0 -
*kicks her own butt*
After a lunch and dinner I really should not have eaten, I figured out what the problem is. Apparently depression likes carbs and jumps right in as soon as I overdo it at this point. Nope, not going down that path again.0 -
Oh yeah, emotional eating tends straight to the "comfort" of carbs. Of course when you're done with the meal do you really feel any better? Aren't you beating yourself up because you gave in to the craving? And aren't you far more likely to do it again tomorrow?
I've noticed a pattern where one fast food meal leads to five fast food dinners. It's really uncanny, even when there's expensive groceries wasting away in the fridge.
I am finding, now, (25 days straight LCHF/Keto eating) that the act of cooking, then the act of eating what I know is best for me, lifts my spirits far higher than some warmed-over junk food.
If all else fails, make some strawberry fat bombs and put them in the freezer. Grab one when you feel another craving coming on. They're quick, they're easy, and I'll be damned if they aren't better than Haagen Daaz Strawberry Ice Cream.0 -
I brought my sliced lunch meat & havarti with me to work today.
Hubby said he'll cook burgers tonight, so I'm off the hook for cooking and can work on cleaning the kitchen up a bit. He's going to cook ALL the burgers, so there'll be some in the freezer for "emergency" situations.
Strawberry fat bombs? Recipe? Pleeeeeease?0 -

I'll report back on how they do without the added sweetener. Weeee!0

I can tell you that they are still amazing, since I completely overlooked those ingredients the first time I made them.0
