Hi all! ^this is how I feel about finally getting some shoes that work for me! Yay!
Today is similar to yesterday. Lil girl and I are still sick, except I slept okay last night so I didn't sleep all day today. Have done some laundry and chores and fixed a printer problem. Won't be doing anything today. DH will take son to tutor and a casting. DH thinks he's next to be sick. Boo! At least I'm feeling a 50% improvement and maybe will recover faster this time around. Next week we have a holiday, so I hope weather will be okay and I might feel better. I like to run on holidays because of less traffic. We'll see.
Happy Spring! Have a good one!0 -
Love the thread Starter!
Sherry - yuck to being sick! But at least you seem to be recovering.
Rising - I finally developed a bedtime routine that I slowly tweaked that helps me unwind and go to bed when I should. It involves doing things like checking the calendar to make sure I'm not forgetting anything, planning out chores, then taking a bath or using a foam roller to relax my muscles. Overall, each step is something to help remove any stress from my brain or body. I also set an alarm that goes off when I need to start my routine and head to bed. I still struggle to go to bed on time when Hubby is home, but overall it's helped a lot!
I didn't get to road bike, but I did get to go to the Y and do the indoor bike for a bit. I'm hoping to sneak away and go swimming this morning and do my weight lifitng tonight (since I didn't get it done last night). It's garage sale time! I'm hoping to get rid of a lot of stuff! *fingers crossed
Have a great day everyone!0 -

I didn't work out yesterday (worked both jobs), but I will definitely work out this evening! I'll be back to report what I did.0

Val I'm happy you got some answers about your son! I've started making myself a to-do list every day - my version of checking the calendar to make sure I'm ready for the next day. A lot of my workouts are in the evening so I'm not getting home until 7:00 or 8:00 (and try to be in bed by 10:00, and still need to make & eat dinner in that window) so it's nice to have a list reminding myself what all I need to get done before I go to bed. Otherwise I crawl into bed, get comfortable, and remember something important I forgot to do. As I'm crossing things off one day's list I start writing out the one for the next day.
Glad you're on the upswing Sherry!
My trainer is on vacation so I got to sleep in this morning. Remembered last night to change the alarm on my phone so it wouldn't get me up at 5:00. Did not remember to change the alarm on my Fitbit (which I use as a back-up) so I was up at 5:00 and of course could not get back to sleep. Plan is for a swim tonight but I'm 99% sure I'm going to take a rest day. My muscles just feel fatigued. Since I was up early I briefly debated going to open lap swim at the pool by my house (it's 6:00-7:00 am weekdays) but then decided to hold off until evening as originally planned so I could decide how I felt. Then I checked my email and the Runner's World quote of the day is: "Your body has to be listened to more than before. For us [older runners], we have to be smarter in order to perform well." (Bernard Lagat) This older runner is doing 8 miles tomorrow, so I'm going to be smarter.0 -
