What about Tahini?

I happened to pick up a jar of this the other day in my Kroger discount bin. (that may be a clue why no one has mentioned using it). I think I paid a dollar for 16 oz. Well it tastes ok, kind of bland, lots of fat. On the label, 2 tab = 170 calories, had 6 carb grams but also 3 fiber grams. I think it may have possibilities. Does anyone use it?

I used it to make homemade hummus but haven't in awhile because I haven't ran across a lower carb hummus recipe.

yes, make hummus - tahini plus chickpeas. Not the lowest carbs, but not that high.

My wife bought a jar of it to make hummus for the Super Bowl. It hasn't been opened since then until last week. I tried then along with some sesame oil to make shrimp stir fry. The recipe needs work, not ready for prime time. My jar says per ounce 5 g carbs with 4 being fiber.

I ran across a low-carb recipe for hummus that uses part chickpeas and part cauliflower. Cauliflower is pretty much a me only thing in my house, as my guy cannot stand it, so if this recipe is not to my taste, it will go ala garbage, and I hate wasting food, so this is on the eventually menu sampling place for me... I can't remember who posted it, but I've got it pinned, I think. My name there is Knit_Or_Miss...

Couldn't find my pin, but here was a search that yielded some interesting results...

Also, for future reference, I've been told you can use peanut butter in place of tahini in hummus. I am not a peanut butter fan (like peanuts, but not the butter, go figure), so I've never tried it, but I've been told the taste difference is negligible. Tahini tends to be super expensive here and has a massively short shelf life once opened, so finding it in the dollar bin here would be unheard of! The jar I got (can't recall if 16 or 24 oz) cost me $7-$10...so you got a massive deal.
