This would be the carb binge phase

Have been feeling drained the past couple of days. Noticed my energy lacking in my workouts. I think I have exercised too much and need more rest now, but also I feel under-fueled. I can't figure out exactly what's going on because even after 20-30 g carbs before exercising I just felt drained trying to do my reps. I've been eating under 100 g carbs the last month. A few days out of that I've definitely hit over 100 but probably not more than 125 or so. Felt fine and even kinda like I was losing weight (only wanted to shed around 5 pounds).
Now I just feel like I need to eat more. I'm not overweight and was planning to go into a bulk phase with a heavy weight training program (way more hardcore than what I'm doing now) starting next week. I'm considering resting until then to reboot. My goal calories will be 2500 on training days, 2000-2200 on non training. My goal for the past month and a half almost has been 1500-1600 calories. So I'm wondering if I'm just reaching my limit now with this calorie goal...and need to eat more.
Anyway, today I had crazy carbs. I just wanted to eat them all really. Cinnamon roll, sandwiches, cheesecake, cookies. Lots of "c" words. Despite all the carbs I still have that drained feeling. But I also drank a lot of caffeine, which can make me super hungry. I just feel like my body is telling me to eat a crap ton until I can't anymore. And then go sleep for a couple days.
This is what the CICO trolls have talked about in their anti-LC posts, I feel like. "You're gonna drop the water weight, get hungry and go binge on carbs..."
I'm definitely planning to up my carbs when I start the Jim Stoppani program next week, just nowhere near his recommendations. But holy crap, I can't do any program the way I feel right now.

Sounds like the classic blood sugar-insulin roller coaster... read up on how carbs affect your blood sugar. Then eat more fat to keep the cravings at bay.
Dr Jason Fung explains the science in this video at about 6 minutes in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dimP7IdM2Og

Are you fat adapted (FA) ? If not, you may be in that horrible twilight zone where you're getting the worst of both worlds: roller coaster glucose high and lows, but too little ketones to give energy. I second the above advice go to ketogains, read the faq.0

This. I can't personally do 100-120g carbs without needing every sweet thing in sight. Life got much more pleasant when I cut my carbs way down.0 -
Looks like you just need to eat more, not a "low carb leads to carb binge" thing. If your maintenance level is 2000-2200, that means your current 1500 goal is a 500-700 calorie deficit. If you only had 5lbs to lose, then that's way too steep a deficit.
To compound matters, there are several days in your diary where you only eat 700-1200 calories (or at least, that's what you've logged, I'm assuming you've logged what you've eaten). In the couple of weeks or so that I looked at, you went over your calories once, by a whopping 19. Not nearly enough to make up for the 100+ calories you're usually under, meaning your actual deficit is closer to 1000. That's way, way too low for someone with hardly any weight to lose.
Your body is telling you something -- eat more food, woman!0 -
Chances are good that it is food-related, but I've had weeks like that where I realized later it was probably hormone-related, or sometimes I was actually coming down with something.0

My maintenance cals are more like 1850. I'll just be doing different surpluses on my bulk. Not every day logged is accurate. I definitely didn't eat more than 100-200 cals under my goal on any of those days.0

I'm taking a few days break from working out and I think even with limiting carbs and logging just to give my body a break. I want to feel good going into a more intense workout routine. Also taking some iron although I'm skeptical it's related to that0
