Wow....I had saved this photo a while back and it was next on my list to use as a thread starter...and I so needed to hear this one this morning! I was soooooo frustrated because for the last three weeks I haven't gotten a long run or bike in...maybe even longer than that...because of various issues. Sick kids, sick me, mechanical issues with headlight, and then last night it was a barking dog. My neighbors dog was up barking incessantly from 10pm - 1am. It killed my ability to sleep or get up early. So I missed both a long bike ride that I had spent a half hour getting my bike ready for AND my Pilafes class. I was very disheartened and contemplating giving triathlon training a rest since I can't seem to get it to work. So a good quote to remind me to keep going!

I've also not been eating perfectly. I've not really been binging. I'm maintaining in calories nicely. But haven't dropped weight in forever. But I've pondered it, and my life is insanely busy and stressful right now...but come August it will lessen drastically. Hubby will be done with school and able to help more. Right now I have three kids at home all day...but come August I will be done watching the extra toddler...my youngest will be in preschool half day...and my middle child will be in kindergarten all day. Suddenly no one will be home in the morning and only 1 kid for the early afternoon. I figure I'll just keep maintaining, continue to work on better food choices, and really push it in August. I'm not gaining, I'm not binging, and I'm getting good workouts in. I'm happy with that.

Today I'm seeing Les Mis at a dinner theatre with some friends and then going to a caranival with my kids. A fun day that should get plenty of steps in. I'll also do my upper body workout this morning, so I won't miss out on everything I had planned to do today. Tomorrow is my long run and I'll move heaven and earth to get that one in!!!

    Happy weekend everyone!

Sounds like a fun show Val.

My hike was good...major drama as hubby had a hard time putting bed frames back together, he is not me mechanical. I thought he was going to break them, but late at night they were both done.

I feel raw today after all the drama...don't have the energy for it like when I was young.

    Today is cleaning for pics.

val, that does sound like fun plans!
Marla, sorry about the drama. Sometimes I think husbands have more drama than teenaged girls (well, mine does anyway--how many midlife crises will he have?! Lol).

Well, today I finally got a run. It was pouring rain in the morning (which helped with the dust) and I took off when it stopped. As the sun came out, the temp raised from 68 to the high of 86 and I was a bit overdressed. Add to it that I hadn't run in a week and a half, still had head cold remnants...it wasn't a great run. I ran 9 miles with a little walking. Then I walked about 2 miles and then ran another mile and a half. The last mile and a half was actually good--I hit my rhythm and was in the shade, it was all a gradual incline which means I didn't even worry about pace, just maintaining a nice happy breath/foot cadence. Anyway, I had lots of self-defeating thoughts during my earlier overheating, pulse too high, runny nose first nine miles and the threadstarter today really helped me to put those negative thought behind me. So, thank you very much for that!

6 days without a binge. Been reading a lot about low carb diets & trying it without being a crazy person. Being mindful! Eating way fewer carbsFeeling good.

My heel has been $&@#%^*£+>€ killing me lately but only on and off. I've gone to the er before & it's plantar fasciitis so trying to take it easy. A couple of years ago I belong to Kaiser Permanente and went to a podiatrist who sold me a pair of super feet for $10. When I saw that they really cost $45, when not subsidized by KP, I was too cheap to replace them. Now that my feet hurt, I went online and bought two pair, one for my sneaks & one for my work shoes. I'll be wearing tshirts from old navy this spring but if I have happy feet I won't care.
