Big OoOps

So I was a fundraiser lunch at my church today. There are several diabetics in the congregation, so I was excited today to see that someone thought of us and brought my favorite type of sugar free lemondae (Nature's Twist). I'm standing around really enjoying my second glass of this delicious stuff, talking BGL levels with another guy who was diagnosed the same time I was. When a terrible thought occurred to me. The bottles for their regular and sugar free varieties are identical except for the words 'sugar free'. Sure enough this was the fully leaded version! Here I was (jokingly) giving my friend a hard time for having a bit of cornbread when I have just slurped down some 54 grams of sugar in less than 15 minutes. I am so fearing my post-pranial (sp?) BGL today.

Ouch! Please don't feel bad. I think we all do that, esp. with some "triggers." For instance, I adore chocolate! A relative sent peanut M&Ms in a get-well gift, which I meant to ration over days but instead slurped up gratefully. Thank goodness my BG according to nurse check had leveled out soon.0

Just as a side note, I believe the term you needed is "post-prandial"-after a meal. Somebody correct me if not.0
