Awesome to see such positive response to this!

I've taken the liberty of finding the CSS that controls the calorie column and the big calorie thing on the user home page and set them so they hide. The result is that you can have your other columns, and still log for purposes of carbs, and not see calories, and you don't get the giant calorie thing staring you in the face every day.

I did this. It was actually a bit scary. :D I did it anyway.

So far as I know I'm the closest participant to the International Dateline so here are my start figures at 9:30am Wednesday morning...

Weight 84.6 kgs (Which is a false high for completely unknown reasons. I'd been trending downwards steadily around 84.3.)
Carb max goal 15 grams but happy with anything under that.
And I've blocked Calories from showing using Dragonwolf's CSS

Oh Sajyana, you're the closest to the International Dateline, I didn't realise you were taking part. Yes, it is scary not to see the Calories isn't it? I'm glad they're hidden or I would look at them though ;) What are your starting figures - weight, carb goal...?

:) Yes, only NZ'ers are closer. We're already half way through Day 1.

Goat started a separate thread for check-ins.

I decided that instead of stressing about carbs on my holiday I'll just not eat them at all. It will be easier. I can buy food and cook while at my sister's and I know how to order a steak when we go out. ;)

Count me in. I stopped logging and counting two weeks ago so I'm good to go with a weight challenge!

Crap. I'll try and start the next thread earlier in the day, so it's up before anyone is waiting for it. LOL, I tried.

It's fine. :) The thread was there when I logged in this morning.

    Decision:

I'm going to stop tracking. It's been nearly 5 months. I'm going to trust that I have a handle on this now and not track anything at all.

GREAT experiment! I know I am not ready for this level of commitment yet, but very interested in learning from all of your experiences. <3

I'm watching as well, but figure I've changed things up often enough I should probably stick where I'm at for the moment. Perhaps in June!

    To all the watchers:
Good on ya for knowing what you're comfortable with. We're all just experimenting and perhaps it might not work for all of us. :) Great that you watch with interest and an open mind though. Good to have you here.

I figure there's enough N=1s in here that it might be N=10 or 15 by the end and give us a good idea of how well it works for the general ketoers.

I am watching.....scared yet to try it myself, but very interested to know, because I had been stuck for a long time, and just over the last week, when I actually ate more than usual, I lost a pound. Sooo.....just watching for now, but.....

I just realised what I like about this. It's not a competition. It's not even a "how much weight can you lose in a month". It's about working towards building a new eating paradigm. I like it.

I've actually been doing this since October and I've maintained with ease. I bounce between 243.xx ad 247.xx and havent had to count calories or even log much because I've eaten very little carbs. Which is WOOHOO! At lease i feel confident I've got maintenance down when I get there.

But to lose weight, I have to count apparently, so started back counting last week. But i am so excited to watch this challenge and see if there are others like Mr. Fit Goat who can lose without counting or if many have to count like me to lose. Very exciting experiment!

Well, if nothing else, you know it will be something you can aim for with maintenance. And, it might not work for everyone. Time will tell.

Right. No competition. No specific "goal" amount to lose. Just trying to see if we can focus on food choices, as opposed to amounts, and still have success.

And the others I missed, there's nothing wrong with just watching. Heck, feel free to comment and offer any encouragement and observations you might have (hopefully supportive ones). I get that this is not a step many people are ready to take. Most people don't get to MFP because they have success eating as much as they want. It did take me a while to let go.

Yep, I'm a very interested watcher of this experiment. I've only been eating this way for a month, so better stick with keeping tabs on what I'm doing before trying a free flight. Hope you have great results!

I checked in on the other thread earlier - and announced I was going to stop counting calories this month. Just found this thread - lol! Looks like my personal goal for April matches this challenge - am so definitely in :)

Bump (just so people can see what we're talking about in the other 2 threads).

Aggravated...due to updates I saw this AFTER I logged my info on the other one. Still up for this, as tracking the cals even when disregarding them was bugging me, but this whole thing confused me in two posts. Disregard any info that doesn't apply on the other post. Will do update tomorrow as per above. Still confused on where want updates - here or there?

It's a bit confusing. There are currently three threads. This one was to just commit to the challenge. You correctly logged in the logging thread. There's another one for support.

And I think we're supposed to log weekly, but I don't know if there's going to be yet another thread for this week. :)

There's going to be another thread each week (just posted the one for tomorrow). I am going to lock the other one. So people post in the right one.

Locking this one too, to keep the discussion in the weekly thread or the support thread.
