As my pool is closing...

My pool is closing this weekend ~ worry not a new one opens on Monday.

But I thought I would do a 'lap of honour' and give myself a new challenge to mark this change. I started lessons about a year or so ago and in particular swimming front crawl really freaked me - especially in the deep end. But with lessons and time I have integrated crawl into my usual swim - a modest 660m using all 4 strokes and lots of drills taking 25/30 mins.

So I said to myself - ok you still don't like front crawl and you get bored without breaking it up with different strokes and drills etc.

So - today let's try just swimming crawl and see how far you get.

I thought I would manage maybe 6 lengths (33 m pool) and then go back to my usual stuff.

20 lengths later .. !!

I really really surprised myself - and went on to do more lengths, only stoping cos the school kids (is noise!) arrived. Best crawl count, best speed, best distance in one session etc.

Looking forward to my first swim in the new pool!

That's a GREAT NSV! From time to time I'll do something similar. Keep up the hard work, and you will be amazed at how much you improve. (Usually by leaps and bounds when you are consistent)

Here's to the new pool, and I know it will work out for you.

    Awesome.
I don't mix it up, don't listen to music and just count strokes. I don't get bored.
    Just keep pushing.
I started at 6 laps some years back. Last summer I started really pushing myself. If I can, anybody can.
