I have been trying low(er) carb diet for last 10 weeks and have seen a tremendous improvement in my Fasting and PP BG levels. However, as part of the deal, I have lost 10lbs and am at a weight that I don’t want to go below. I want to try eating a bit of additional carbs. Has anyone had success in slowly increasing carbs and still keeping the BG spikes under control? How do you do that?

Or you could try upping your fats by a bit. The carbs you eat will have to be made into glucose and will require insulin to be metabolized. Fats are metabolized by a different process.

everything gets turned into glucose eventually, but fats take the longest, thus are less likely to cause spikes ...

And Calboy, sorry no I'm so far above a healthy weight this hasn't been a problem for me yet. I'd love to hear more about your diet adjustments tho. A good friend of mine was diagnosed at the same time and actually needs to gain weight to make healthy BMI.

How about a fatty protein? I love my cheese and would love to be in a position where I can add more. Peanut butter would be another fatty protein to add in.

Peanut butter was one of the addons that my dietician recommended to pair with something to keep spikes down but still add some protein.
