Issues with hypoglycemia

ive been off insulin since Friday and been having episodes of low blood sugars. The lowest 54 and highest 108(which is good). I have symptoms with sugars below 86. I started 2 new meds, Jardiance and kombiglyze xr. I was told to take together in the morning after eating. I have a call in to my MD and waiting for call back. Probably be after 4pm since that's when he usually returns non urgent calls. I'm afraid to take them today.
Anyone else on these meds or/and having issues with low blood sugars???

Hi Jules. I used to be on insulin too and also have had issues with low blood sugars, mainly due to change in diet, losing weight and increasing exercise. However, I'm on Bydureon, metformin, and repaglinide. Of those, repaglinide is the main hypoglycemic agent, so my doctor reduced my dose, although I still have to watch it.

I think you're wise to wait for your doctor's call.

Thanks! Congratulations on your weight loss and getting off insulin. That's wonderful!! I'm on kombiglycx xr 5mg/1000mg and Jardiance 10 mg. I can't believe I missed my doctors call. Ugh I work 16 hrs 3pm- 7am so when I got home and relaxed lol I finally went to sleep. Of course, then MD called and I missed it. Woke up and they're closed. That's what I hate about working these hrs now here I am wide awake ready to start my day at 7pm. Oh well thanks for sharing and I will definitely get in touch with him first thing in morning.

SIXTEEN hours!? Bless your heart!!! I hope you can reach him, I'm interested to hear what he has to say. I read up a little on your medications, and I think what's difficult in your case is, with the kombiglyze, reducing the hypoglycemic means reducing the metformin too. Maybe he'll reduce or eliminate the Jardiance? We'll see in the next episode!

Quick update: he's off until Monday. Covering APRN said to stop the kombiglyze until I can talk with him on Monday. Will be interesting to see what he thinks. As of today my blood sugar has been in the 88-95 range. It's only been ,2 days and a half so we' ll see.
