I know with the typical low calorie/high carb diet the more you loose, the les calories you consume. With the high fat/low carb diet, are there any changes that need to be changed the more you loose? Or will you continue to loose as long as your net carbs are below 25?

Hi Jbarnes1210 You will find variety in the answers to this question. I have not reached my goal yet, but have been eating keto for 78 days. Whether you count that as 'seasoned' or not is your decision; I'm a very long way from the most experienced here.
However, for my opinion, should you wish to take notice of it... I believe that we do need to reasess our macros from time to time during our weight loss journey. One source I read suggests to do this every 10 kgs (20 lbs) lost. I've decided to do that once a month, and I visit keto-calculator.ankerl.com/ and healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html for my virtual check-up.
I also believe that we will continue to lose with carbs under 25 grams. For me, that's total carbs, but I know others do fine on <25 net carbs. Everyone is different, and we all slowly find what works best for us.0 -
I'm not seasoned, only 2.5 months in. I'm obsessed with my calculations, I weigh myself once a week, measure everything and log into calculator. Typically i haven't adjusted much from the day i started, the only thing that moves is calories, up or down, but everything pretty much stays the same. Maybe with people who've lost a lot, that would make a big difference, but not in my case so far.0

In my case, my only change was my calories went up as my weight dropped and my loss slowed. It's like my calories are slowly rising to meet the loss of calories from burned fat and eventually they'll both stop where I am at an ideal weight and eating an amount that will maintain that weight.0

Just because CICO isn't *everything* doesn't mean it's *nothing*. If you eat 1000s of calories over your TDEE week after week, you're gonna have a bad time. LCHF is not a panacea.0 -
For me as long as I'm between 20-30 net carb I don't have to adjust anything.
If you noticed, once you're in ketosis your appetite plummets, I noticed no matter how fatty my meals are I struggle to get past 1000 calories and finish off my day with a handful of nuts..

I'm pretty much at goal, and once I re-lose the weight I gained on vacation, I'm going to ease into maintenance. I expect if I kept eating at a calorie deficit and 25 NET carbs, I'd keep losing, and I don't think I want that.
I have not adjusted my calorie intake since starting in June, but what I have adjusted is my expectations for rate of loss. When I first began, 1500 cals was a big deficit, and I lost over 2 lbs a week in the first 8 weeks, then I lost a little over 1 lb a week for the next 12 weeks, then it slowed down to approximately .75 lb per week, and lately it has been less than .5 lb per week.0 -

For me, I am sloppy with my carbs. Meaning I go as high as 40, I try to keep them under 25. And there was a "midpoint" where I was constantly stalling. I don't like that, so I adopted intermittent fasting (IF) as a weekly routine. On Thursdays, I don't eat, just drink water. I have lost weight 5 out of the last 6 weeks. I've been on the diet about 7ish months and have lost 77 lbs. I am/was a 13+ year diabetic. I still have 47ish pounds to go.
BTW, I started at about 1800 cal @ day, now am about 1400ish cal @ day.
I may start 2 day a week IF to accelerate my loss. For me, IF works real well and has many health benefits besides weight loss.
I hope this helps,

Thanks for all the advice, it helps a lot. It sounds like I'm on the right track, I've decreased my calories with weight loss, and kept my carbs around the same(under 25). Just wanted to make sure I wouldn't effect my weight loss by not adjusting my carbs as I drop pounds.:)0
