Just finished my first week back to work. I am SO exhausted that I wanted to fall into bed every evening, and I am completely wore out tonight. Does this get better? Ideas on balancing work and fitness? ? Thanks! !

It definitely gets better, and pretty quickly. Water and walking are important, but sleep is right up there, especially while you're healing.0

I would concentrate on healing and getting back in your groove for now. Walking is great and you can add in more exercise as you are able. For what it's worth, it took me about 12 weeks before my energy levels were back to normal.0

You must be quite soon out if you just went back to work?
Be kind to yourself, and let yourself heal. Baby steps!
I didn't even attempt exercise until 3 months. I did walk a little, but nothing much.
After I went back to work (I was lucky and had three months off) I would walk everyday for 30 minutes. I would come home, and go right away. I knew that if I didn't, I wouldn't do it.
I gradually increased to 45, and 60 minutes.
Now, im 9 months out, and at my goal weight. I go to the gym right after work 4-5 days per week. If I don't go right away, I won't go LOL
I also go to bootcamp 2 nights a week, and I still do my 45-60 min walks when it's nice outside. Usually 3 times per week.
I am AMAZED at how my lifestyle and activity level has changed. I actually LIKE to exercise now!0 -
Im so glad to hear all these positive comments. I've been exhausted also. I can't wait to get some energy back.0

I found that after about a week I had enough energy to exercise again, but I needed to incorporate a nap just about every day. I had four weeks off of work, so I could take naps when I needed them. I was good for a full day when I returned to work.
Keep plugging away, it will get better!0 -
I am 4 weeks out. I really like the idea of walking right after work. That would probably work for me. My kids are super supportive and motivated to ride their bikes while I walk.0

So glad I read this (thanks for asking willowmarie12). I was starting to worry. I am still working on my energy levels after work, too. So tired once I get home.0

I am utterly flattened when I get home from work. (My surgery was 3/2) I still take a lot of naps, and I am really tired a lot. Heartened that this is normal.0
