Easter Saturday here. Got 9mi. Now off for fun with the fam!
Hav a good one0 -
Sherry - You got a run in with a cold! That's impressive as I really struggle to do even basic tasks when I'm sick!
Laura - I've been praying about your leg issue...hoping that these exercises will do the trick for you!
I charged my fitbit yesterday, and then forgot to put it on. Oops. Funny how it feels like a lost day when that happens! I have no idea how my calories look because of that. But I didn't snack a bunch, and ate well. So if I did go over then it was like Sherry and with decent foods.
I already went for a bike ride this morning, I conquered the big hill by our house. It's a nice road that goes down the mountain by our house and then I take it back up. Its steep enough where my van always has to change gears to plow up it. I was pretty nervous about doing it, but my Tri in August is the mountain man, which is obviously up in the mountains. Heading down was actually scarier then up. I started to really speed up (about 30 mph I think) and that's intimidating! But I did it and next time won't be as scary for me!
Gonna head to Pilates and then we're all headed out to breakfast. Have a great day everyone!0 -
Happy easter sherry!
Finally got a bit of sleep 5 hrs. I have turned into insomniac.
So we had contractor here because this rich guy was thinking of buying house and adding more rooms, havent heard back yet so either they didnt get bid yet or?
Having a quiet rainy day here, too tired to work out, i need a few days with 7 hrs at least before i feel normal. My mind wont shut off.

I hate when I forget my Fitbit! It totally feels like those steps don't count. Great job on the hill Val! I'm still afraid of hills on my bike (also agree on down being scarier than up). Enjoy Pilates! I appreciate your prayers for my leg!
You're doing so great with your running Sherry! Hope you can kick this cold quickly.
Glad you got some sleep Marla (although 5 hours still doesn't sound like nearly enough). Still when you're not sleeping you take what you can get. Have you tried taking melatonin or anything? Not sure if this would work for you but I listen to audiobooks before I go to bed. I have a couple of apps on my phone (one is Audible, where I pay for the books, and one where I can download some for free from my library) and they both have sleep timers so I set that and let someone read me to sleep. When I'm focused on the story it shuts off my mind wanting to race.
My run went fine. It was 8 miles (taper week) and I went to the track, both because Jason wanted me to run somewhere flat and so if I had issues I wasn't far from my car. It was 64 and sunny, and the track is black, so I was comfortable in a tank top & shorts. Last weekend I ran in a tech shirt, a tech pullover AND a running jacket. Felt so good to have the sun on my shoulders today. I ran 4 miles, walked half a lap, ran to 7.75 miles, then walked the final quarter mile. (According to Garmin run 4.02, walk .13, run 3.61, walk 2.7 = 8.03.) My cardio was good and my IT band held up pretty well, but my hamstring started to spasm at 4 miles so I took my first walk break there. Intended to run 2 more miles and walk again but was feeling pretty good so just ran until I was ready for a final lap cooldown walk. My mind & heart & lungs are ready to run more, but my legs aren't. Hopefully soon the gluteus minimus exercises I'm doing will have made some progress so my rear is working more & my hamstring is working less.0
