Laura - that's an amazing run, especially considering all the issues you've been having! A lot of people would just quit for a while but you keep at it. Fantastic!
Marla - glad you got some sleep, although I agree with Laura that 5 hours does not sound like much. Hopefully this is just the beginning of a slow increase in sleep each night!
Went to my Pilates class. There was a different instructor than the normal one who did a lot more stretching and was overall less intense. But it was still a good workout. I also managed to get my weight lifting in, even though having guests staying with us left me feeling quite drained by yesterday afternoon. I dropped my brother in law off at the airport yesterday afternoon and then just crashed. It turned into a movie watching night for me and the kids. But I got a semi-decent night sleep. I'm headed off for my long run this morning and then have church. Have a great day everyone!0 -
Well I'm registered for a marathon in 10 weeks so as long as my trainer & chiro tell me it's okay to keep running, I'm going to keep running. Leg is awfully tight this morning, but it is loosening up as I move around. Except for my rehab exercises it's a rest day today. Washed towels & hung those out on the line. It's supposed to rain sometime this afternoon but it's 59 degrees with 17mph winds (gusts 28mph) so they'll be dry in no time.
Marla hope you got some sleep last night.
Sherry, Happy Easter! Did you run today or was your cold still too bad?
Val I'm impressed you're able to get your long run in before church! I typically never want to do anything except nap after my long runs. It's nice to have company but man it's a relief when they leave. There's just something about having your own space back.0 -
val, you're on fire with your workouts and gettin it done! A long run before church is definitely impressive!
Marla, I hope you are getting more and more sleep. I hope the house sells quick, but you can't wait for that to happen to be able to sleep. I've never tried audio books, but that sounded like a good idea. Just plain reading does a pretty good job of helping with sleep too, though.
Laura, I hope your legs get straightened out. It's a real bummer to have your heart and mind ready to go, but be physically held back.
So I decided to do my downtown 5k loop today and really truly thought I'd do it twice, but my heart rate just would not stay down (I have the worst unresolved drainage problems when I first wake up, until early afternoon, so I was sniffing, snorting, and coughing). Anyway, I got to whet my appetite by seeing and smelling all the charcoal spits starting at the tavernas! Poor tourists were wandering around lost, with the Akropolis and all the sites closed, one even stopped me during my run to ask directions (I wasn't even walking at the time, I was Running! Lol! I didn't mind though.) So once I realized I was not doing too well, I stopped trying to keep the HR down, ran as hard as I wanted, and just finished the 5k and called it a day--no long run this week.
Easter dinner at inlaws was amazing, weather perfect, even my kids were well-behaved ;-) haha. Had a ton of tzatziki, in an attempt to kick this cold's rearend! Lol!
Have a good one, and Happy Greek Easter!0 -
Hi all i have tried everything including audio books which sometimes work and sometimes i end up adding more and more time to timer.
Last night mike thought we could stay home one more night. Ha! Fans went on from 2:30-7am and i got about 3-4 hrs sleep. Tonight we are going back to friends for 4 nights because weather is even cooler.
Just for tonight i am taking a benedryl. I have to work tomorrow. I took a mild valium 5ml last two nights and while it relaxed me i am so on edge it didnt put me to sleep.
If this keeps up much longer i will email my doctor. No sleep meds are good for you so dont want to go there.
Still haven't heard from people who looked at house. But when the fans finally stop in a few weeks my sleep should get better.
going for short walk to get fresh air.0
