Any of you smart people know his stuff? Salesman, or worth listening too? Most of what I've seen matches up pretty well with what I think I know (total cals > macros > nutrient timing > food composition/source > supplements), but I'm curious what the rest of you think.

FWIW, I've been watching this series of vids today...
  1. Nutritional Priorities - https://youtu.be/Szzo5Uy5aQU
  2. Calories in vs Calories out - https://youtu.be/FKn3tcyyr1o
  3. Macronutrients - https://youtu.be/5yI0MInUAPc

Looks pretty good to me, pretty good basic overview of everything. My biggest problem to be honest is that the damn audio was so quiet!

He knows his stuff. He's a Dr. in that field, he practices what he preaches for himself as a pro body-builder, and I know I've heard Alan Aragon speak highly of him and his book.

    Mike Israetel is legit.

He says some controversial things on facebook and I troll him relentlessly but I would absolutely follow his material.

One important thing that I think is worth mentioning is that even among experts there are always going to be some points of disagreement. Most of them are hopefully minor, and most of them agree on the major points, but not on everything.

Sounds intuitive but it's worth mentioning.

I'll also add that one additional thing I really like about Mike is that he explains things very well in his video presentations. Greg Nuckols is another guy who I think writes damn good material and he's very good to follow, but I don't find his video explanations and/or interviews to be very cohesive.

I actually agree completely. I like Gnucks articles but his videos are just...mind numbing? Some people just don't have the personality for video. Somebody like Omar Isuf or Johnny Candito are much better at breaking things down in quick video segments.

Thanks all. Went ahead and bought one of his books. I'm not looking for anything earth shattering, as I think I've got most of the key points down... just looking for another perspective, and hopefully keep me focused on the the right things as I have a tendency to get lost in details.

A few people are doing this at my crossfit gym. I'm pondering. I have to do a reality check to make sure I have the discipline before I spend the money.

I'm pretty sure RP has a new book coming out very soon. Might be worth holding off until it's released?

Will do, I read they have one specifically for women. I'll do some researching to see what's out there and what they have coming out. Thanks!

Started RP today. I did get the RP for women ebook also. Interesting read so far. I don't think I've eaten this much food before 9:00 am in my life. My stomach (his name is Herman) is like WTH are you doing to me. I workout at 6:30 in the morning and for over 3 years now, I've always gone in on a empty stomach . I just cannot eat before I workout. Had to drink 2/3 of whey protein before my workout and it threw my stomach off so bad I felt like I wanted to puke. And of course today's workout included burpees and running. The people that have started it at the gym all have positive things to say about it. I just have to stay focused and get it done.
