Laura - way to go! I'm hoping to do my first full marathon next January! Basically, trying to build up to a half ironman that I will do a year from November (I'm volunteering at the HIM this November as it's the only way I'll get in to the race next year. It usually fills up in about two minutes when it first opens) But the thought already makes me nervous and that's almost a year away! So my hat is off to you!
Well, got both my workouts in and the day was going well. Until my afternoon swim that is, when towards the end a full blown migraine hit me. I've never had one hit me that quickly before. Definitely not fun when you're in the middle of the pool and have four small kids you still need to get and drag home and feed. I somehow managed to finish my cool down and grab the kids. I just dropped the small one I watch off and grabbed pizza for the kids and plopped them in front of the TV. Not a great mommy moment, but you do what you gotta do when hubby as work and you're trying not to puke. They went to bed early, and so did I. I'm feeling a bit better today. I think I'm coming down with the cold that's migrating around our church and school. Hoping to stave it off this week, as next week is my rest and recovery week so I can actually take more of a break. But we'll see. Off to the Y this morning to do hill reps on the treadmill and am supposed to do my upper body weight lifting tonight. Both are fairly short workouts, as is my 20 minute run tomorrow. So I won't be pushing too hard and hopefully I'll be feeling even better by Thursday for my long bike ride.
Have a great day everyone!0 -
Val they are orchard fans right outside my bedroom window, so loud no white noise, ear plugs, tv, audio book, etc can cover it. It's literally like trying to sleep in a airport runway.
But that said I have had 2 wonderful nights of sleep at my friends house now! on a roll...yeah!!!! First night I took Benadryl because of work yesterday needed to make sure I slept. Last night I got for first time in months 8 hrs without any drugs at all and for me that is a miracle!!!
We are going to spend 2 more nights there and then weather turns warmer and fans should be off or only on for 15 min or so at end of night.
Current news about house: last people decided not to remodel bigger and don't want house, but then we showed house yesterday to a couple retiring from Gig Harbor and they love house and my realtor thinks they are going to make offer. Only thing is they will have a loan and loans take longer now after the mess in 2008, which is good that they are more careful but I would hate to hold up selling for 8 weeks and lose best time to sell.
I told her they would have to pay full price to do that. I am tough cookie! To be continued....
I have errands in Wenatchee today but since I got some sleep will do at least a good walk before!

Back to back play dates today and working on plans for another tomorrow (plus still struggling with this cold, esp in the morning to early afternoon). Working out / running has been out of the question, but I guess that's kid spring break for ya. I guess I can get back to normal when school restarts. Obv eating has been over the limit without all those running calories. I'm just livin my life and hoping the weight doesn't pack on too hard. Splurged for wine tonight, which I don't do often at all, so this'll just be "one of those weeks" (where you hope to break even on your calories).
Hav a good one y'all!0 -
Val sorry to hear about your migraine! Do you think it came on so fast because you're getting sick, or something else? In my late 20s or early 30s I finally found out that certain foods were triggering some of my migraines. I still get migraines periodically but they're pretty rare, and usually I can feel them building.
Marla I'm so happy you're finally getting some sleep! Good luck with the potential buyers.
Sherry sometimes you need weeks like that. You can't be diligent all the time, and since you're still dealing with your cold this is a good "spring break" week for you too.
Saw my chiro this morning for treatment #2 on my leg. Hopefully this will be the last one because it's fairly excruciating. He just told me to keep him posted over the next couple weeks. I still had Friday's bruises and now have a fresh set of bruises forming over the old ones. It only bruises in the bad spots so I have splotches vs one big bruise - the fact that I bruised "proves" that it was necessary, if that makes sense. In other words I'm hoping the pain was worth it. At one point he was telling me "You can keep squirming away, and I will keep following you." In addition to the exercises I'm already doing he added on a couple more steps to my treatment plan, but he told me to keep running.0
