Metformin (again)

I have read everything about upset stomachs etc, and I counted myself very fortunate to have avoided it.
I also didnt read the label, and I didn't realize that I was taking Metformin XR, and I felt wonderful!
After Drs visit last week, she sent in a refill, but I guess didn't realize that I was on XR (?) and gave me regular Metformin.
So, no upset tummy, as in any sudden need to "go" I just, cant "go" and my stomach is swollen hard
Any ideas? I plan on calling Dr tomorrow AM, but I have to head out of state around 10 am and I'm not sure she can change it in time.
