Rant about professors

I swear to god some professors just have no idea what they're talking about! Do they think students are incapable of doing research into their major requirements? I just had a math professor tell me I had to take calc 1 & 2 when I don't have to take either (I can and will be taking stats instead), then tell me that calc one was a prerequisite to chem 101 and 102! Yes, I have to take those, but they require a much lower math that I have already passed! What the hell??? I expect professors to at least know something about their area of supposed expertise, at least don't disseminate *kitten* information!
