I figured this kind of went along with what I said yesterday about where my focus lies in my fitness goals. It's amazing seeing what my body is capable of doing!

Loved all the advice yesterday. Love this group! I still feel out of sorts. It's been over a week of this cold and it just clings to me. I sit here still feeling slightly feverish. But it's the closest to normal I've felt in over a week. I'm hoping to do my strength training tonight. Just something to start getting my body working. I'm also hoping to start walking. Maybe walk my kids to school...or get up and take a walk instead of a run. Then amp it up as my lungs start to clear. I've been hacking things ups so intensive training is out. Luckily, it is my rest and recovery week. So not as many training hours even if I was well. So I'll just focus on easing back into things this week and hopefully by next week I'll be set to get a good week in! I have a race in two weeks and would like to get some good training in before that. It's only a sprint so not too difficult but I still would like to be well prepared for my first race of the season!

    Have a great day everyone!

Great discussion yesterday! And a great thread starter today!

Hopefully you can get out for a walk Val - when I hit that point I always feel like the fresh air is good for me, even if it's just a slow walk because I don't have much energy yet. Your race is coming up quick! You say "just a sprint" but I'm still totally intimidated by that.

I'm still in pain, and still generally feeling sorry for myself. My hamstring has still been tight, and then last night my trainer had me doing something that made it start to cramp/spasm again. It cleared up, but I'm frustrated by not knowing what I can and can't do. I shot an email to my chiropractor this morning, who is hit & miss on responding so we'll see if I hear from him. If he's busy when he reads it & doesn't respond right away, he tends to forget.

Oh and it's snowing. So yeah.

    Pilates tonight.

val hope you get cleared up soon.
Laura, I hope your leg starts to cooperate and stops hurting you. Um, snow? I don't know how you handle it.
Marla, between our time zone distance and your late nights, it's like you and I are on two different planets. Enjoy your mini hike.

I ran without a heart rate monitor today due to chaffing yesterday. I tried a different route and was nervous to make it back in time and ended up doing a really great no-nonsense run with only one real stop to stretch (usu I stop pretty often for the calves). Got just over 6mi with plenty of time to spare for stretch and picked kids up early. Back on track with my eating now that spring break is over and I'm back running again. DH says the gym remodel turned out great. I've got to find time to get over to check it out and do a workout.

    Have a good one!

Pilates was good. Lots of core & hips. We always laugh, but tonight was extra fun.

Got a text from my trainer during Pilates about tomorrow's run. We had agreed early on he would give me timed runs vs mileage ones during the week because I'm trying to wedge it in before or after work and that way I can plan better. He had texted me a mileage goal, and as slow as I am right now it would take much longer than I think he wants me running. I figured it would take 75-80 minutes, and he came back & said 50. My longest run since my break is 45 minutes and that was before my leg issues. He also gave me the option to switch to the AMT if running hurts too much.
