i am struggling today. I have been more hungry than usual. Today I have had 2254 calories, 172 grams fat, 20 grams carbs, and 141 protein. I feel like I "need" something. I am not starving but I do feel hunger. What am I doing wrong?

Your macros look OK. Hunger is a complex signal. Have you lost a lot of weight since your highest weight?

I have been maintaining a 65 lb weight loss for several months. I am usually pretty satisfied. I am very faithful to the low carb and it has significantly decreased my hunger. I don't know what my body is doing today, but I don't like it. I just ate some turkey pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, which puts me way above my usual calories, but if the hunger and dissatisfaction stays I will eat something I shouldn't, so I opted for the snack.

    Congrats on the loss!

If it's just one day, I wouldn't worry about it. That sounds like the perfect snack -- very filling.

In theory, if we lose a lot of weight, our hunger signals start becoming "louder."

I'm just thankful that the hungry days don't come everyday, like they did when I tried every other diet out there. I think they are so far apart now that we get anxious about being hungry. Or, at least I do. It's one day among all the others. Hang in there!

I have hungry days. Sometimes I eat 2500-3000 calories. Others day I'm not very hungry and eat way less. Average it out over the week, your body doesn't reset every 24 hrs. ;)

Good lesson learned hopefully. After being excessively hungry and eating so much food, the next day was BETTER than usual. I was less hungry and able go throughy day without having food always on my mind. I ate much less the next day. No weight changes to speak of.
Thanks for the encouragement. So I guess I need to listen to my body, eat the right things, and don't stress out if my body required more every now and then.

This is exactly it... Your body was apparently healing or treating or converting something. If you know it is true hunger, listen. Unless you've had hydrostatic testing or some other truer real method, that calorie goal is just a guessed number on a page... :) Sounds like you did great and trusted your instincts. :) That is definitely something to be proud of!
