I sent an email to Mike too. Hope it was not rainy or too cold for them. My heart sure goes out to them.... Tired of cleaning and ran out of time..but it does look better. With May shedding and all the invisible country spiders making baby webs inside, I feel like Cinderella without a Godmother, lol.. Concert and seafood tonite, which I hope will be fun. It is wet and cold and windy. My friend leaves tomorrow so we will have breakfast and a movie(DVD) at the house..and maybe turn on the fireplace..Picked up a birthday cake for Sunday for 2 ladies..Now if I just live thru it all, lol... Hi Jo. Hi Val! You both must be working hard. Hope you are well..Take care all!0

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday. We are scheduled to do the photography (if any is needed) at today's South East regional orchid judging. It's pretty cold this morning, and only supposed to hit the mid 50s today. We have no idea how many orchid plants will actually show up, much less whether any will be awarded. Of course that is always true but better weather brings more people with plants. On the other hand, cooler weather can bring DIFFERENT plants. If none are awarded, then no photography is required, though we may shoot some plants we find interesting.

Good morning all.
Irene, congrats on losing the 2 pounds! Yay.
Ed...are you a professional photographer? Orchids are nice...mine bloomed a month or 2 ago and is now growing air roots.
Jan, hope you enjoyed the concert and seafood last night.
We went out with some friends last night. I had salmon, which would have been fine, but I also had 2 drinks...kind of put me way over for the day. Oh well...it's been a while, and it was really fun.
It's in the 30s here, partly cloudy, high of 47 expected today.
Will be babysitting later. That'll be fun.
Happy Saturday, everyone. ๐ฆ1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! Another nice day looming, with no chance of rain. Not much on the agenda today, though I COULD get out for cat food and a couple of things. Or I could wait. Isn't that nice? LOL.
Ed...are you a professional photographer? Orchids are nice...mine bloomed a month or 2 ago and is now growing air roots.
Well, professionals get paid, don't they? In any case, I am married to a software engineer who is, technically, an amateur photographer, as we don't get paid for this, other than in appreciation, and the fact that the award pictures are published in the Awards Quarterly digest by the American Orchid Society. So I am a helper, gofer, and adviser on whether a given shot is the best we can get. I don't actually take the pictures.
We had a new outside visitor this morning. I haven't seen this one before but love the white tip on the tail. None of our cats saw this one, so there was no immediate consternation regarding its presence.

Good morning all.
So nice of you and your partner to take pictures, Ed. My husband and I were both software engineers at some point in our careers...photography and gardening are his main hobbies. Pretty cat visitor.
Back from babysitting. My grandson is a joy. Such an easygoing baby! Cute as a button.
No special plans for today. Going to rest up after spending too much time playing on the floor!
Happy Sunday, everyone. ๐ฆ1 -
Good morning;
Irene-congrats on losing 2 lbs. I have lost 5 of the 8 lbs. that I gained while on vacation.
It is a struggle.
Vix-how old is your grandson now? I bet you enjoyed every minute on the floor.
Ed-beautiful cat, maybe a new addition to your family?
Jan-sounds like you had fun with your friend.
Val-time to come up for air!!! We miss hearing from you.
I am only working 3 days this week, Tues, Wed. and Friday. It will be nice to have a short work week.
Nothing on the agenda for today. I have finished my housework, so the only thing I have to do is a load of laundry. I may go to Kohl's. I have a 30% of coupon and a couple of $5 rewards and a coupon for $10 off if I spend $25.
Have a great start to the week.

Howdy all y"all. It's magnificent Monday! It looks like it should be another pleasant day. I do plan to get out to Kroger, and get some laundry done.
Orion has claimed my lap and my left hand, so typing is fun at the moment.

Good morning all.
Jo, so nice that you have a short week and that you're finished your cleaning...you can relax! Sounds like Kohl's will be giving you money for buying something! Have fun.
Ed, good to get out and get your shopping done.
I had a great time with the baby...he's almost 9 months old, so doing great things like starting to crawl, and trying to talk (he says dada, and a lot of other babble), and he's learned to clap, so he did a lot of clapping!
Had a much needed massage this morning.

Good morning all.
Turns out we're not having snow today. It rained overnight and it's too warm for snow this a.m. Sorry your plans changed because of the weather, Irene, but like you said, snow is pretty.
I'll be off to stained glass and clay workgroups today.
Happy Tuesday, everyone. ๐ฆ1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday!
Cool and wet out there now with temperatures expected to plummet later tonight. I might get out late this morning or this afternoon, to pick up those few items I didn't get yesterday.

No special plans for me today...laundry, go through the junk mail, some light cleaning maybe.
Happy Wednesday, everyone. ๐ฆ1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! I've actually been up since about 5:30 this morning, but distracted by this, that, and the other. I have been out to Aldi and picked up some nice, hearty, seasonal soups from Europe, along with some chunky soups more like the Campbell's brand. And of course I picked up a bunch of other stuff too.
I have some beef going in a slow cooker that may end up being beef with noodles, or, possibly, if I add some potatoes, peas, and carrots later, some kind of beef stew or soup. We will see later what it ends up as.
Now it's time to go in the kitchen and figure out lunch.

good morning, Well I ordered a pair of snow boots from llbean they came in yesterday so now it can snow lol they are really nice of course now it won't snow. They were a little expensive but llbean has such great quality they will last me foe years. Ed your beef and noodles sound yummy. Not much going on today I might go and get my nails done but it is pretty cold out side right now it is 20 so I might just stay home. take care everyone1

Good morning;
It is 15 degrees outside. I am taking my car to the dealer today. I got a recall notice for the back up camera. They said it will take about an hour to fix. I plan on being there when they open. Since I will be in the neighborhood I will stop at Whole Foods.
Irene-LLBean's stuff last for years. I have to jackets that I have had for over 10 years and they still look good.
Vix-Oh how fun that your grandson is starting to talk, crawl and clap. When you are babysitting you will have to start coaching him to say grammy, grandma, nana or whatever you want to be called. I know everyone has a different name.
Val-glad you are doing well.
Ed-I haven't had beef and noodles for years, something to thing about.
Jan-Did you make soup or chili? I made minestrone soup with sausage last week.
Have a great day and stay warm.1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! Another cold morning, with an expected high of 45 and we have 20% chance of precipitation today. I need to get out to the post office today to drop off a small package, but don't think I need to go anywhere else today. Lunch will probably be soup or stew. I tend to eat a lot more of that sort of thing in
cooler weather.

Hi all.
Went to painting and drawing class this morning. Starting a new project.
Cold here too, but up to the 40s later, and sunny, so that's nice. I wore my fake Uggs today, very warm and cozy.
15 is cold, Jo! Winter weather! Good to get your recall fixed and fun to stop at Whole Foods.
I am having a lot of fun with our grandson...I don't really care what he calls me....as soon as something sounds close, I'll take it! He's got dada and bobo and some other sounds...no mama yet. haha...maybe I should claim bobo! (just kidding).
Cold weather always makes me want soup. I bought butternut squash for soup.
Irene, enjoy your nice warm boots! Good for your walks in the cold weather.
Ed, stew sounds yummy.
Happy Thursday, everyone. ๐ฆ Stay warm! โ

Hello!!
A little warmer tonite..we have clouds. Low of about 42, maybe slightly colder with the wind chill. I had made chili already, enough for 2 days. Actually all the soups sound good about now! I love butternut squash and pumpkin soup! I have the stuff for the pumpkin, so that may be next! I am so ready for Thanksgiving! I actually love it better than Christmas now that the kids are getting old, and even the grandkids. They like cash best, it is just not the same! Though I think I can sneak in one or two things, lol...
Hi Val!! Gosh Jo, that is too cold!! Not a toyota on that recall is it? Asking because my back up camera seems to need adjusting.. They do tell you how if it is a little off. I have to do mine when warmer and with the book in front of me!! Just hoping mine was not a recall.Inconvenient for you, but free I assume. Ed, the stew sounds yummy! What euro soups are at Aldi? I might need to investigate!! Vix, I think the age your grandson is is one of the best times! Irene, you are so right. Sometimes paying extra for some quality is well worth the price!!
Take care all!!0 -
good morning, well today I am going to Debora hospital with a friend she didn't want to go by herself. I also have to do food shopping. Aw vix your grandson is at a great age . Ed you and Jan are temping me to make soup. It was a little warmer today for our morning walk it was in the 30s Jo good luck with your camera hi val1

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Not as cold, but 90% chance of rain. I don't think I need to go anywhere tonight, but a nap would be lovely since I didn't get one yesterday, and got up early today to boot. Might get a little housecleaning done. I started on the vacuuming yesterday.
Ed, the stew sounds yummy! What euro soups are at Aldi? I might need to investigate!!
Well, they have 4 that I noticed, and bought. They seem to have these first three (pictured) pretty much through autumn and into at least early spring.
$2.19
And, in addition, I think at the same price, Hearty Pea Soup, in a similar sized can.
Oddly enough, I didn't care for pea soup until I joined NutriSystem, so many years ago. But I found, to my surprise, that my adult taste buds disagreed with my childhood memories, and their pea soup became a favorite. The same went for the little buckets of tomato soup for lunch. I had not cared much for tomato soup, even as a younger adult, but that little bucket of soup became another favorite, and I have cultivated a broader spectrum of tastes.

Ed, thanks for posting the soups..Guess I need to visit!! My tastes have changed somewhat as I get older. Probably some of the meds change things too! In your case, it seems a change for the better!! Irene, sweet of you to go with your friend!! Hope everyone stays warm and dry. We are cold and rainy all day..though better weather to follow!! The plants are so confused, lol...0
-
Hi all...
oops, my post from this a.m. disappeared!
Jan, if you have a recipe for pumpkin soup, maybe you could post it....I've never cooked a pumpkin!
Irene, nice of you to go with your friend.
Ed, the soups look hearty...should be filling. Enjoy.
I went to acupuncture today instead of next Monday because I am scheduled to be on call for jury duty next week. It was cool and sunny here today. They finally reopened my TJMaxx store on Sunday (it had been hit by the tornado last year) so I stopped by there today, just to walk around and see what they had. I picked up some nice organic teas.
Hope everyone had a happy Friday!1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! Looks like it will be a nice day. I may get out for a few things. I bought some frozen pancakes at Aldi. If I eat them with plenty of protein on the side a serving of three makes a nice treat for me at breakfast. I often don't have any syrup on them, saving that option for when I have earned a MAJOR treat. I remember the old NS dry pancake mix that people converted into all sorts of yummy muffins, cookies, etc. I even developed a recipe for breakfast Snickerdoodles from that mix! I was sad when they discontinued it.
When I take an after breakfast reading, I'll see what impact three, small, no syrup pancakes have, along with eggs and sausage. Blood glucose readings have been looking really good the last several days. I have been keeping a slightly closer watch on what I eat, and since starting up with OnDuo I have a coach who is much more available. We can leave messages in the app and he (or she - there are two but only one has communicated with me so far) can help me set realistic goals. Unfortunately I am still the one who has to try to meet those goals. I always get the difficult part! But having frequent (at least weekly) contact with the team will help to keep me on track, I hope.
Much to my surprise, my insurance plan is not only paying for the OnDuo/TelCare membership, but sent several mailers suggesting it, and letting me know that it was fully covered! I don't know how long that will be paid for but I want to get the best out of it while I can. I am sure that my local endocrinologist will be pleased about this when I see him next, in January.

good morning, well I woke up with stuffy nose and a little sore throat hope I am not coming down with a cold. It was nice going to the hospital the people so are grateful. Debora is a heart and lung hospital so you know if you are in there it is pretty serious. I am so grateful for my good health. I had a pretty busy day yesterday went to the grocery store picked up a turkey to donate to the church food bank. I was surprised there was 112 turkeys donated so at least the people will have a nice thanksgiving. We do live in a little town and there is a lot of people who are having hard times we always try and help people out that is having a hard time. Ed ns just came out with a pancake mix not sure if it is what you use to have. Jan I would love the recipe I have never had pumpkin soup but I love any thing pumpkin. Vix good luck with the jury duty I have had it a couple of times but they always settled out. Hi Val and Jo1
-
Good morning.
Ed, I've never heard of OnDuo...is that something your insurance recommended? Nice that they are paying for it. Glad your numbers are good.
Irene, you do a lot of good things for your community. I think that is good for your health too. I am always grateful for my health, even when I do have problems, I consider myself lucky they are not worse.
I've had jury duty before. It's much easier than where I lived in NJ. Here you just have to call the night before to see if they need you. Last time I only had to go in one day for a couple of hours. In NJ I had to be there all day every day for a week, was called for a few panels and had to be a juror on a terrible case of atrocious assault.
It's chilly today, high of 43 expected, but sunny. I'm happy as long as there's sunshine.
We're going to meet up with friends today for a distillery tasting, and pizza (gluten free)! It'll be fun.
Happy Saturday. Happy Weekend, everyone! ๐๐ฆ1 -
Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! Another cool one here, with no chance of precipitation. Might do some things around the house today.
Might not. LOL. But I do plan to cook the Italian sausage links I thawed out. Probably lunch and dinner today, and maybe breakfast tomorrow too.
