I am going to start this one because we seem to have quite a few people with fitbits and because I really would love to increase my steps! Right now with the Leslie Sansone one mile workout and the cleaning/errands I do daily I am at a comfortable 6000 steps a day. I might keep that goal for another week because dh will be off and because we may have to take a 3 day trip next week. The one mile gives me 2000 steps so I figure when I hit the 2 mile I should be able to hit 8000 steps. If I can make the goal I will keep it for remainder of May I believe. I know that is not much compared to some of you, but I would be thrilled with it! lol

The goal is to move more. Doesn't matter where you start, just do it. You are doing great, listening to your body and what you can do while healing, that is exactly what you should be doing.

Enjoy the trip, I have grown to love Florida, even the parts away from the beach ;) but just in the wintertime!

well after you all told me about Leslie being on Youtube I got ambitious yesterday and found my Roku remote. So today, after having the weight gain, I believe I might give the two mile walk a shot! Wish me well. Also, I mentioned the trip we are taking on Monday. We are actually going to pick up a dog that we are getting from a national rescue. Brussels Griffon is my breed and we are getting a healthy little 4 yo who was an owner surrender, so I am going to start looking for a place where I can take him to the beach!!!

Ah, you will get your walking in everyday, maybe even twice a day now. Lucky dog, lucky you.

Glad you found the remote as well.

Oooh, a precious dog. They are such a help. I'm loving my SIL's English Bulldog. He just now helped me sweep the floor.

That is exciting Wanda. Be sure to read the FAQ in the stickies for the Fitbit group to get off on the right foot. The first day things will be a little screwy, but they sort themselves out quickly.

I have increased my daily goal to 7000 even with hubby home! I made it yesterday so now I don't want to slip. Morning walk with my new baby dog and one mile in the afternoon with Leslie Sansone are doing it!!

Bumping this up because Fitbit Surge, Fitbit Blaze, Fitbit Charge HR, Fitbit Charge, Fitbit Alta, & Fitbit Flex have a new feature.
    from the newsletter:

Ready to get started? Navigate to the new Hourly Activity tile (it’s already in your Fitbit dashboard!), and click through to set an hourly step goal. In addition to the CDC health guideline to fit in 2.5 hours of moderate exercise each week, aim to also take 250 steps each hour, which is roughly two to three minutes of walking. As your Hourly Activity time goes up, you’ll notice a decrease in your Stationary Time patterns over time.

By default this is set to 9AM to 6PM, I set mine to go til 7PM. It will let you know when you need to get up and walk some steps :) I think this is just what I needed to get back to my former levels of walking.

The only way I could get my hr to notify me was to set the alarm functions. Several of us have asked fitbit to add the ability to have more than 8 alarms. I've set my phone alarm as a backup. Our doctor says no one should sit more than 20 minutes at a time. I fail on that because computer, reading, tv...

I chuckled at that dr. statement, my mom's dr. used to tell her she was overweight and had to lose the weight. He was unable to tie his shoe laces because of his stomach, he couldn't bend down to do it.

I have a Fitbit Charge and love it! I have been reaching my 10,000 steps 3-5 days per week. I would like to do that every day! I am seriously considering getting the Fitbit Charge HR. Any feedback on that?

I love my Charge HR. I think the HR makes the burned calories much more accurate than the other devices. I've had mine over a year and it has helped me so very much in getting fitter and loss weight. If you can find a good price on the HR, go for it. I prefer the buckled band to the regular charge as well, they hold up very well or mine has and it gets a lot of use and abuse :)

If I do nothing else, I put on my fitbit. So much of life is habit and I am so glad I have developed this addiction. I bought a pair of Brooks walking shoes this month and the support is wonderful! So far my plantar fasciitis has not reared its oh so ugly head!
