hello i am on day 4 of phase 1....just want to know how seriously are calories taken on this diet? i see the protein is not limited, but is that only for phase 1 or all phases? i like this diet so far but i am getting anxiety about some of the quantity rules. i do not have much weight to lose and i just left the medifast diet because i was getting sick...i am 5'4 and roughly 140lbs--i exercise maybe 2-3x a week, do you guys really lose weight without being strict with your protein? crazy.

I can tell you that I lost over 100lbs on this diet a few years ago. The protein is unlimited as long as you watch your portion sizes. All Phases do limit calories and carbs...... oh yes, and sugars too!0

The primary things to watch calories for are nuts and beans. Otherwise you don't necessarily have to count calories (I didn't), just keep an eye on portion sizes.0

30 pistachios is the portion given by Dr. A...from his Supercharged book. THAT saved me...I never was good with the peanut butter...liked it too much. But I counted out the pistachios...bought the big bag at Costco...sucked the salt off...when in for the kill and it took a long time to eat.

Yeah, I pretty much count out 30 nuts. And try not to eat an entire can of beans.0 -
