over eating alternatives?

Instead of over eating when I feel emotional/bored I would like to start doing things instead of shoving food in my face. Any ideas to beat the boredom?

    Get up and go for a walk. Read a book. Do research on the internet. Pick up a hobby. Just keep busy! Drink some water and chew a piece of gum. :)
