Serious question.... When you guys title it (w/c May __ ) What does W/C mean? lol. I'm assuming it means (week of May __ ) but....? LOL I know that Fitter is trying to confuse me and probably will soon have me weighing my self in kilograms and pretending I'm from the UK or something! JK JK. Maybe I'll get a free trip to Thailand out of this!? A girl can wish... Just FYI I'm going to write it my way when I post. So don't be confused by the changes from week to week when I post vs. others.


Ok, LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE... on your mark, Get set, WEIGH! I have surgery next Thursday so... keep me in your prayers/good thoughts. Doc said I won't be able to eat much for 10-14 days after that he also said ppl lose ~10-15 pounds. I'm like -__- I don't want to lose my weight from illness or pain. But at least I have a few pounds I can afford to lose :wink: Then, I have to start hitting the weights. I need to strengthen some weak areas so I can stop having so many aches and pains!

    Here ya go Gona:-

    Definition of w/c abbreviation from the Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary

    (in writing) (British English) week commencing (the week that begins on the date mentioned)

    Examples:-
    the schedule for w/c 19 November
    Interviews will take place in w/c 10 May.


    The UK still doesn't really use Kg for body weight. They use Stones (No joke!) and leftover pounds.

    There are 14 lbs to a Stone so at last weeks weight of 165 lbs in the UK if asked my weight and I said that I weighed 165 lbs I would likely get either confused or blank stares, or asked "What is that in Stones?" I would have to say that I weighed 11 st 11 lb (11 Stone, 11 Pounds) :)
    I use KG as that is what they use here in Thailand and that is what all the scales here measure in. have to convert weights now into KG or pounds as I am starting to forget what weights Stones and lbs really are! lol
    With being away it totally slipped my mind that today was Thursday and I did not weigh in this morning. I know I have loaded up on salty foods whilst away and eating out so I do not expect a good weigh in as I will be retaining lots of additional water but at least it should be just that, "water". I will post the bad news tomorrow.

    Nothing to worry about Claire. Normal fluctuation. Keep active and eat right.

    As expected, a gain, again! I am getting frustrated at this eating away from home. Every time I start to see things under control at home I need to go away and with "guesstimating" weights, and having no real idea what crap (like oil, MSG, sodium, etc.) vendors have put in the food (despite asking what is in it and where possible asking not to add any) I keep bouncing back up so much quicker than I come down! And I will be away next week again too! :s:'(

    I think my record is about 8 or 9 lbs gain in a week which I had on a previous challenge, Claire. Feels lousy then either it comes of frustratingly slowly bit by bit week by week, or it will choose a week and my weight will plummet by about 5 or 6 lbs and peeps start to say that that is dangerous and too quick which, if it was not water previously gained would be correct, but as it is, it is fine. I guess I am just very salt sensitive. If you stop eating all the processes crap and takeaway sandwiches, and factory pre-prepared meals etc. your sodium would plummet and you would see a huge loss in a week, and see it all go back on if you started eating salty stuff again. Maybe not as big a change as me, but still a change.

    Yeah usually if i have a lot of meals out i usually find that i can gain a bit.... but then a few days later i have lost most of it when i get back to normal eating.

    I had been doing well this week with everything and my weight was coming down nicely, then had an awful relapse on wednesday so although it looks like a small gain it was actually 4lbs.If nothing else I'm picking myself up and back on track very quickly now. Training is going very strong and loving it.

    My home computer is lagging sooo painfully slow that I haven't been logging consistently but I have been making a point of asking myself, "Is it really worth the calories?" when tempted with not so healthy food choices. I'll take any amount of weight loss but certainly more effort needed to be made.
