This will be my 3rd week doing LCHF. I have lost 10lbs (7lbs happening the first week). I'm curious if I should be focused on the percentage of my macros or the amount in grams? Here are my stats

1st week daily average (not including fiber amounts):
Carbs 100g 27%
Fat 73g 45%
Protein 102g 28%

Calories (not including exercise) 1599/day

2nd week daily average (not including fiber amounts):
Carbs 34g 12%
Fat 68g 57%
Protein 86g 31%

Calories (not including exercise) 1129/day

Why the big change in calories? You should focus on grams for protein and carbs, and use fat to fill out your calories. Your second week looks good except for the calories and fat.

The numbers on the 2nd week are kind of skewed, because I drank Saturday and didn't log my dinner. (and it was a carb overload casino buffet).

The 2nd week I was less hungry. So, I shouldn't pay attention to percentages. I should focus on the actual numbers?

Limiting these occurrences will matter more than any other tweaks you may be curious about.
I take pictures when I go to a buffet to help me log semi-accurately.

How did you come up with your macros? You should set them correctly and change only when your weight changes a lot so you don't under or over eat and your calories should be based on your weight goal and a deficit

Use the keto calculator. I don't know how to post the link. But I'm sure someone here knows how, sorry!

THANK YOU!! Another question--the Keto Calculator makes the carbs as net carbs. Should I adjust the numbers on MFP because it doesn't factor that in? I swear--I need a LCHF sponsor to help me through all of this! lol

Keto calculator is asking for NET carbs, but i use regular amount and then subtract the fiber.

I've never actually noticed that. I've always just put in my total amount of carbs there.

That ketocalculator is terrific. Wow. I'm coming up with this scenario, but the calories are too low for me. (I average 1300 and losing weight. I think if I bump up the fat, it will look more realistic. Thoughts? cke7tuce56i4.jpg
OP - Jaycie I hope you don't mind me chiming in on your thread, but I'm hooked now.

If you know you lose on 1300, then just change the number in the calorie field where you determine your deficit, so that you know what your macro numbers are.
