Great article--thanks for posting! I totally get this guy's way of thinking, and I have to say as a beginner I can't wait to be able to experience this for myself :)

Been there myself - both places. It's the last line that really speaks to me: "Everybody is a runner but most people don't run SLOW enough or long enough to realize it."

LOVE IT!! Especially the part about sounding like he's wrestling a chimp to the ground.

That's how I felt yesterday. I went on the longest run I've ever done, and it just zipped by. I wasn't out of breath or anything. When I went out, I told myself to run slowly and just keep going. I still beat my last 5K pace, but it was an easy run for me.

    Finally.

(And the runner's high lastest a looooonnnnng time.)

I could laugh, I could cry. Great article!!!
I've had a few runs where everything just clicked into place...but last night was not one of them. Here's hoping for Saturday.
I just need to run my own race and enjoy it. :-)

I seriously laughed so many times during this article. This was my favorite line (probably because I can totally relate to being almost dead after running) "And running is supposed to feel really good only when you're done and lying on the floor and telling your wife, yes, you'll have a pancake. "

I am going to start a walk to run program with my husband on Monday (through a running store where we live). We tried this last summer and quit...hopefully we can make it through the 10 week program! AH!

How far did you get and what made you give up last time?
