Hey all! It has been a long hard weekend/week. Our internet stopped working when the rain hit, and didn't get fixed until Monday night. I've been running high fevers and GI issues to go along with it...then my kids got it. Now hubby has it but at least the rest of us are on the road to recovery. My dad is having my track my temps every day because Ife been having fevers every day for a couple weeks. He is concerned I may have Valley Fever, which takes a long time to recover from and can lead to pneumonia. So that's fun. No training or work outs until I've been fever free for a week or two. It's frustrating but I'm trying to focus on the long term here. I don't want to get worse.
I met with a personal trainer yesterday. I'm going to meet with her once a week, 30 minutes for the actual workouts, and 30 minutes for a kind of health living coaching. I'm excited to see how this goes. I've only paid for four sessions...one a week. We'll go from there and see if I like it.
Today my hope is to just start to get things back in order. The house is a bit of a disaster so I'm hoping to get that cleaned up a little. But mainly more rest is on the table for me.
Have a great day!0 -
Oh val, I'm so sorry! I hope you all get straightened out very soon. Definitely pick rest over housework when you're sick. The trainer meetings sound like a nice change-up.
Today we got rain right as I was walking the kids to the tutor. So I had to change plans from running to gym, but by the time I got the bus to the gym, it had stopped raining and after the gym everything had dried off so I ran back. Unfortunately my right calf and hamstring were giving me a problem. Since I was tired from the gym and it was hot and humid, I cut it short. I'm a little concerned about my calf and not sure what to do about it. It's been bothering me awhile. I'm thinking I'll start wearing hrm again during runs and slow it down again since that helped earlier this year. I can't seem to slow down unless the hrm is telling me to.
Hope everyone's having a good one!0 -
Val happy you have your dad watching out over you! In the midst of my pity party I realize at least I am somewhat healthy...
I say somewhat because my allergies are on high alert these days. I am allergic to dust and digging into deep places has brought it out in droves. I was wheezing, coughing and sneezing earlier. Claritin to the rescue! It's better now.
I found a mask to wear, I should have thought of it earlier, and got some caffeine, I normally don't have any but this last week is calling for it!
Dinner was fun, only had to pay $17 after GC and great food.
Have to see if I make it to Nia today, right now my body is saying no way, but wait till 5pm and see.
Beautiful 80 degree sunny day. Hope you all are having good ones to!0 -
Val I'm glad you're starting to feel better. Hope you can figure out the fever thing. I'm excited for you about the trainer.
Sherry is it a cramp or what's going on with your calf? My trainer often has me do dynamic stretches before I run - leg swings, walking lunges, etc - wonder if something like that will help you?
Marla nice find on the gc! I have way too much stuff too. I'm a minimalist at heart so not sure why I have so much clutter.
The conference was good. I got home at 6:30 last night, unpacked, got everything set for today, and watched tv the rest of the evening. Work was extra busy today. I mostly kept up with my work while I was out so it was busier than I expected. Day went fast anyway. I saw Jason right after work (makeup session since I was gone Monday), then found out he has to cancel Friday on me. His grandpa is very ill so he's traveling over the long weekend to go see him one last time. Since Monday is a holiday he's staying a little later to get me in Tuesday. I'm missing a session this week so I'm glad I won't miss one two weeks in a row, and that would have been a full week without seeing him. We are already disagreeing about weekend homework.0
