crap. I do the stairmaster at least 30 mtes a day, with a 40 lbs sandbag on my shoulder. Yesterday, when I lifted it to put it in place( while climbing), I went too fast and jammed it in my neck. I did this move hundreds of times. So mad at myself! My neck is really sore, and I am competing this coming Saturday. What do you people recommend; heat, cold, voltaren or any other product out there that you tried???? Nothing taken orally.... Drug testing coming up this week....

Probably too late for cold to do any good.
Got a chiro that does ART (Active Release Technique) to help get rid of any pressure points and confirm muscle is moving freely?
    Warm area before you go.

Have you seen your doctor or an ortho?

Icing and heat are a bit a contraversial topic. I found this article to be a good one - but you need to find out if the issue is muscular or not.

    Does your competition follow WADA?
