Hi! I was just diagnosed with mild porphyria. Previously I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia but as that was not a satisfactory diagnosis for me I kept searching for the real answer. I recently went to a specialist and he ran around 30+ different blood and urine tests and then diagnosed me with Porphyria. This makes so much more since to me. I have been dealing with whole body aches, headaches, mild digestive problems, fatigue for so many years now. This explains why every time I try to diet to loose the weight I gained after thyroid cancer the pain would get really bad. I would then give up and go back to eating more carbs and a few more calories and I would get better. Then I would try to diet again, it was a vicious circle. He is also sending me for a sleep study since I am new to this I am hoping we can get some exchange of ideas going here.
