Week one done, with some struggles

This is my 2nd go round with c25k. I made it to the 20 minute run last time but couldn't run longer than 10 minutes so I gave up. That was 2 years ago and I've regretted it since. I really want to get this done!

I just finished w1d3 and I struggled to get through it but didn't stop. Day 2 was a breeze and tonight I felt draggy and off balance the whole time. I ran about an hour after eating and normally I run before eating, could this be the difference??

Yep, running too soon after eating can definitely throw you off.
It's also possible you just had a bad run. They happen to everyone. Don't let one bad day put you off, jump into W2D1 this weekend/next week and keep moving! If it feels too hard, slow down and then probably slow some more.

I've had more than one start with this program. It helps if you do it with a group because it keeps you on track - you realize that everyone has bad days, skips workouts, etc. Just give yourself a break to recover and start right back up where you left off. You don't have to do the plan EXACTLY, just keep moving forward. Repeat runs if you need to. Start over if you want. Remind yourself that just doing something is more than you were doing before.

Congrats on getting through week one  try W2D1 before you eat tomorrow and see how it goes, if there is a difference and log it (keep a diary of how you felt after) that way if you have a bad run in the future you can look back and see that it was after you ate or on a day you didn't drink much water etc.

can't wait to hear how it goes!! Good luck.....

Thank everyone for the advice. Last time I attempted c25k I stuck to the schedule & moved forward when I wasn't ready and then couldn't get past week 5. This time I don't care if I have to redo week one a hundred times, if w2d1 doesn't feel good, i'll go back and redo week 1.

I think keeping a running log is a great idea. I'll start one tomorrow! Thanks again!
