I am new to this group and excited! I am not new to LCHF/Keto though. I have been living this way for 15 months now and will never look back!
I have lost 90 pounds and would like to lose 10 more. I am on a new quest to get to 20% body fat (about 30% right now) and am giving myself a year to get there. I lift weights 3 days a week and do cardio 2-3 days a week) So far so good!
I no longer exhibit symptoms of T2 Diabetes and my doctor says in my current condition I would never be diagnosed with it! I no longer have sleep apnea, I have more energy than ever, my blood pressure is lower, I don't feel hungry all the time, my skin is soft and smooth, my teeth feel cleaner, my hair and nails are better, I can run for 24 minutes straight without getting winded, I can lift heavy things and have visible muscles in my arms and legs, and on and on and on! I love the low carb life!!!
I am 43, 5'6" and all the time now people tell me I look younger (love that!!). I started out at 260 pounds and a size 20w and now I am 170 and a size 6 pants. Lean muscle is the only explanation for that size!! My goal weight is 160 - but maybe 155 - I want to wait and see how I feel when I get to 160.
I feel like I have had a face lift!!

Welcome and congrats! You look great.
I've had a similar transformation. I started at 252. I'm bouncing between 160.5 and 163 a bit right now. Of course I'm a giant. I'm just under 5'10". Stubborn stubborn body fat! Ugh. Could it hurt the scale to move a little more? Come on! lol

OMG, this is so inspirational to me!!! I've been LCHF since mid January, and Keto since mid February. I was 262 when I started, and I'm around the 240 mark now. I've already felt that facelift look, as I started at my heaviest at 319...and had major inflammation issues and swelling back in 2006-2008 that at 280 made me look heavier than I did at 320!!
Thank you for the reminder that all things are possible. I have a few limitations right now on activities (I'm in PT for POP, which limits a ton of exercises I'm not allowed to do for now), but I'm so excited to keep on... I really needed this sense of possibilities today. Btw, I'm 5'4" and will be 39 next month....
Congratulations on all that hard earned progress!!!!0 -

Very impressive health improvement over just 15 months. I am 8 months into LCHF and which I got into by accident trying to address my pain without starting Enbrel injections. LCHF knocked down my pain in 30 days and still has it under control. I have lost 25 pounds at this point in time but at 209 I maintained for 90 days. I was eating like 3000 calories a day for those three months. Weight changed by 4 pounds over that time (207- 211) but after 90 days I was still at 209. The funny part was I lost inches while I was pigging out so to speak on LCHF eating lifestyle without gaining a pound for 90 days.
Regain of 100%+ was my way of life for the last 40 years and had come closed to killing me mentally and physically.
I hope to stay with LCHF as you are doing. Thanks for posting your story.0 -
Welcome aboard (pun intended).
Your transformation is incredible!
I've been doing low carb for just over 3 months and have lost 28ish pounds as of the 1st (I've resolved not to weigh again until July 1, so I have no idea what's happening on the scale right now), but I went from a size 22 to 16/18 depending on the style (in pants) and from wearing plus size and maternity shirts to fitting easily into L and XL tops.
Feel free to add me as a friend.0 -
Where in TX? I'm out in Midland, where the internet doesn't actually exist because I never see anyone else from around here.0
