Anybody have issues with their septic because of the fat? I try to put most into a jar for the trash, but some still goes down the drain.
I use Rid X regularly, but right now it's still stinking in the house.
Then again, it's never been right since I accidentally used the Clorox drop-in for the toilet...

Nope. We drain all fat into a jar and then wipe it out with paper towel. You may want to dump some septonic down the sink to get the bacteria built back up. We dont use any chemicals that go into the sink or toilet. We clean with vinegar and water.0

What are you all throwing that fat away for! I have almost no fat leftovers ever! Every scrap of fat goes into something, and I'm always short when I want to make something!0

Fat from cheap ground beef, generally.0 -
That gets set aside and put in soups or I sauté vegetables in it! Or I pop some into broth. So good.0

I bought an "emergency" septic treatment, came home, followed directions, and left to run errands. No smells now, hopefully it'll last.
*crosses fingers*
Will order more RidX toilet bowl doohickies, as things worked great until I switched...0 -
I never dump fat in a sink, always save in a jar and discarded, I do save bacon fat and keep it in a fridge.0

There is never any fat to go down the sink here, the mushrooms either soak it up ir I pour it over my plate of food.0

I pour the grease into a soup can and toss it after it congeals. (Sorry, not into reusing it yet) In the broiler pan I line it with foil and try to fold it up carefully, then I wipe the rest out with paper towels. However, excess melted butter I try to consume!0

We seem to use the bacon fat as soon as it accumulates, and for other meats we just keep the drippings in the dish and eat it. If there is anything left after that, that's when the paper towels come out so that none of it clogs the drain.0

I usually let any residual fat cool and dump it into the trash... We don't have a lot of residual fat though.0
