Amazing keto story

That is a great story. If I was eating that much protein I would be knocked out of ketosis however. Atkins is a high protein diet and not a LCHF diet. I had a lot of half and half creamer (30 mini cups) yesterday and my ketone levels had dropped from 3.1 the day before to 1.7 fasting this morning. It could have been in part to the carbs in the half and half I guess.
Losing 130 pounds by cutting out carbs shows great results for sure.0 -
From the Atkins site - "You should also eat at least 115-175 grams of protein-rich food for every meal, including breakfast. Options include eggs, cheese, poultry, beef, lamb, pork, veal, fish, shellfish and a variety of vegetables. Taller men can consume up to 225 grams." - not really high protein is it ?0

For every meal? That's 500g protein a day! Seems a lot to me. 140 is a lot in my day...0

Grams of food that contain protein, not actual grams of protein (that is how I read that anyway). So a 100g piece of meat with 30g of protein for example.0

Kelly's not keto, she's carnivore. She's not worried about ketones or Atkins or anything else. She just eats meat and drinks water. I don't know where they got the 98% from. That other 2% was probably chicken, eggs, or bacon. She's pretty strict about no plants.
Edit: The article also makes it seem like this is a short duration thing. I think she's been doing it for over 6 years now. Maybe longer. Not just as a quick "pregnancy" trick. Also, the nutritionist is an idiot who didn't read the whole background. Kelly didn't lose weight when she went meat only. She had already lost almost all the weight doing low carb. It was eating meat only that finally caused her fertility to return. I'll find a link to her blog. And you can read the whole story. It's fascinating.

To be honest the write up is not at all what she ate. I followed the link to her blog. It seems she lost all the weight oh LCHF but found it hard to maintain as she had a sweet tooth. She went carnivore, gained weight for six months as she ate 4000 cals/day, went down to 2000 cals/day and now maintains happily. Daily Mail never known for its accuracy!0

Thanks for posting those details that makes for a more complete picture. It is interesting indeed and brings attention that not all eat Low Fat only.

I wish I had known about low carb or carnivore ways of eating during my 8 years of trying to have babies. Who knows, it may have saved a lot pf heartache. I think she is amazing!0
