I've seen recipes that call for powdered psyllium husks - usually bready things. Do you have a favorite recipe that uses this ingredient? I just bought some. Thanks.

Maria Emmerich uses psyllium powder (not husks) in her recipes. She has great keto recipes; mostly favorites 'healthified' as well as good articles.

This is the bread that we make all the time for my husband to take to work for his meal break. He also takes cheese portions, small tins of tuna, pepperoni, boiled eggs and things like that to go with it.

    Hey Dan,

Thank you. I read this thread. I don't have any issues with constipation while doing low carb. I get some fiber from veggies, I take magnesium (gives me a good night's sleep, makes me relaxed), eat good fats, no worries. That squatty potty sounds interesting though...

I want to use the psyllium powder as a minor ingredient in bread-like, low carb recipes, like bread, tortillas, etc. Psyllium, like flax and coconut flour, absorbs a LOT of water. I have found that if I eat a product that uses one of these high fiber ingredients, I need to drink a glass of water when I eat it, and be good about hydration for the rest of the day, or it will MAKE me constipated.

Granny, I just looked at this recipe. It calls for dry ingredients in milliliters. Do you actually measure these ingredients in grams?

    It looks good.

Oh yes, I should have thought to mention that and yes, I use grams. Whoever heard of using mls to measure dry ingredients? Maybe it's a South African thing?
