There really aren't a lot of good places to get pizza in my area of Alabama. There is a place in downtown B'ham called Slice that has gourmet pizza, but I've never been. It's on my list of places to try if I can ever get out on a date with my hubby.

If you want some good Chicago-style deep dish pizza, there is a place called Tortuga's that has wonderful pizza. Makes you really feel like you're in Chicago eating a good pizza.

Davenport's in B'ham has incredible pizza. Like, seriously...incredible.

Is it downtown? I'll have to check it out! I hadn't heard of that place.

It's actually on Cahaba Rd in Mountain Brook so technically just outside B'ham. Coincidentally, it's just down the way from Mountain Brook Creamery which has waffle cones that they make right there in the store (which smells incredible btw) so you know...dessert.

Oh my, and I love Mountain Brook Creamery! Davenport's is now on my list.

It's a very Midwestern/St Louis style of pizza so I was really surprised to find it while we were down there but I would dare say it just may be my second favorite pizza place.

My entire MFP experience has been made worthwhile now that I've directed a southerner to some awesome local pizza. lol

    In!!!!

And Cassano's in SW Ohio. Just saying.

I'm seriously craving some Marion's right now instead of Cassano's, which I normally don't.

And yeah...Steph from Ohio...usually it's Cousin Vinny's, but right now I want a thin crust

You're all on my black list for not telling me this group was here. Matty, I'm looking at you.

I do believe I may indulge in a Papa Murphy pizza this weekend. It has been ages since I had one and I am feeling the call of my carnivore side. So, it may be a very deep indulgence, indeed...

Been lurking about, but I absolutely love pizza. One of my favorites is at a small place called The Stone Cellar. The pizza is a Cowgirl Junky, thin crust, but so, so good.
