No loss this week :-(

This week is the first time in 8 weeks on this WOE that I haven't posted a weight loss. I'm feeling pretty sorry for myself even though I'm 6kg down from where I started in April.

Last week I did much less exercise than usual, I also relaxed a bit when it came to logging - 3 days out of 7 I didn't log or only logged part of the day. As much as I am telling myself I'm eating the same things every day, if I'm not weighing my food at every meal some extra calories are obviously creeping in.

So this week I am restarting, and going back into the week as though it is my first week on the plan. I will weigh and log everything I eat, I will make sure I workout every day. I am dropping the coconut oil from my morning coffee (although I am keeping the cream because yum), I have no problems hitting my fat goal, if anything I am overshooting and missing out on protein because of trying to stay within my calories. I have prelogged today's food so I'm not tempted to ruin my day with snacks later tonight.

Recently I have found that some days I only want to eat once per day and have made myself eat at least 2 meals. So for this week, if I don't feel hungry I won't eat.

I think that's great, if you're not hungry don't eat. But also keep in mind that on another day, you may feel MORE hungry and if you don't let yourself eat when you're more hungry that might set you up for some delays.

I don't think you should be too hard on yourself though. ONe week without a loss after 8 weeks could mean many things. Just like when you're training, especially running or things like triathlon, you don't train hardcore for 2 weeks straight. By that point you would have scheduled a lighter week in there to let your muscles fully recover, Perhaps it's just a rest week where the body is rebalancing and getting ready for the next phase. LOTS of people on here have reported not losing for even a few weeks and then WHOOSH post a bigger loss than if they had consistently continued to lose.

The point being don't be too hard on yourself, and my personal opinion is don't clamp down toooo hard. Your body knows what it's doing. If it was working then just gently get back to where you know it was working and carry on. And be happy! Trust the process and your body. :)

:) Thanks. I'm trying not to get too caught up in the numbers, but I know I need to tighten up a bit on my self control ;)

    Hi LuizH.

Im in the same boat so i know how you feel, its very frustrating, but i havent seen the scale move down for 3 weeks+ and the advice i got was to stick to plan, not be discouraged and that people have gone up to 6 weeks without losses and then their weightloss starts all of a sudden again. Plus you may be losing inches and not pounds (i thought this was highly unlikely until i went to measure and realised id lost an inch off my waist and an inch off my hips, despite the scale reading the same.

Id definitely try to measure and log all the food you're eating, particularly whilst you're still adjusting to this WOE. Some people dont count calories at all, but i think its important to be fully aware of exactly what you're consuming, particularly your macros.

Good luck and keep with it :)

My 2 cents... if this is howyou intend to eat for life, the longer it takes for the weight to come off, the longer you will have to develop the good habits you need to be able to maintain the loss for life. Be encouraged! You are eating in a way that is super good for you body-- yay! :)

@Sugarbeat I'm not organised enough to have measured myself. My clothes generally have felt looser for a few weeks. I know it's all moving in the right direction, I really rely too much on the number on the scale.

@Thaeda It's definitley a plan for life I'm aiming for. I feel so much better in myself the last couple of months.

Last time I lost a lot of weight on this WOE I had a lot of fat to lose and I lost REALLY quickly. I know this time round I have a lot more muscle even though Ive started at around the same weight as I was then (as a comparison, I was at least 3 dress sizes smaller starting out this time than I was when I started Atkins at the same weight 8 years ago), so I have a lot less fat to lose, which means my weight loss will be slower. It's hard not to compare my slow progress this time around to my previous success but I want the results to be permanent this time.
