I saw a recipe in passing on here the other day (or it might have been on the FB group but I can't find it there either)

It had a picture. They were some kind of.... maybe bread/bun substitute and all I remember is that they were mostly made of egg whites. You seperated the whites from the yolks, added cream of tarter to... one of them... then I don't remember. I looked through a few pages of discussions here and there wasn't anything that jumped out as obvious so I think it might have been an aside in some other thread.

I think the poster said they were good as buns for bacon cheeseburgers.

I'm going nuts the last few days. My calories are going really low 'cause I just don't want to eat. I know I have to eat and the only thing I want to eat is cereal. (Go figure) I haven't but...

I thought these little bun things might be a nice change from meat.

I don't really have any other ingredients on hand to make anything with (on purpose otherwise I'd bake all day and go insane on carbs even it they are "low" per serving.

Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah they are all over Pinterest. Also known as "cloud bread". Never tried them myself.

Sorry off topic but what FB group? The fitday one? Is there another LC one, cause I'd love to join it.

Ooh id love the recipe for those Oopsie Rolls. They sound like they could be a good alternative to low-carb waffles for a bacon & calorie-free pancake syrup sandwich. Mmmm. Does anyone happen to have it?

They are disgusting. They taste like salty eggs/cream cheese. I made a batch and never finished eating them, even a month later. There might be a better recipe, but I made the basic recipe. And nope. Never plan to try again. But some people love them.

    @CoconuttyMummy

I wonder if I made them different, they didn't taste like egg at all, they barely had any taste to them, just a soft consistency, but firm enough to hold the sandwich fillings.

Here is one link, it looks like some people put splenda in it instead of salt, I didn't put either, also I only put 1oz of cream cheese.

if you Google there a ton of different variations on how to do it.

Thanks, AuntStephie. I did give the Oopsie Rolls a try yesterday, and honestly i wasnt impressed. I didnt hate them and i can see the appeal, but i wasnt keen on the texture - too airy-fairy and cloud-like.. they just melted on my tongue as soon as i took a bite. I prefer something to bite into and chew on, so i know ive had it.

Im going to try some flax buns next.

I have made almond flour buns (recipe on the Keto Caveman--or is it Caveman Keto--blog) and pizza crust, and they are quite heavy but not too bad. I am on a budget, so I haven't tried any other types of flours yet.

Oopsie rolls just taste like eggs to me. I'd rather just use thinly fried whisked eggs and do a wrap.

I love Oopsie rolls. They are awesome to use for sandwiches IMO. They have been around forever, at least since the 1972 edition of "Dr. Atkins' Diet Revolution," which is where the recipe was first published. They used to be called "revolution rolls" until somebody mistakenly added some cream cheese to the recipe. Hence the "oops". :) they have a rather neutral flavor profile, making them ideal for either a savory snack or a sweet one.

Breads made out of flax are too dense and full of fiber for my taste. I'd rather fill up by eating the stuff IN my sandwich than what surrounds it.

It would be a boring world if we all had the same tastes. Im looking for something a bit denser than the oopsies.
