Hey gang, in the spirit of keeping the momentum going, I've posted an announcement for the next ten day challenge and will message all the group members.

As I wrote in an earlier post, I'm setting some lofty goals:
1. follow a meal plan
2. log all food in MFP
3. exercise every day

I believe if I do all this, I should have a 4-5 pound loss by the end of the challenge.

I put the official start day as Saturday, but if anyone (Nancy!) wants to jump in now, go for it. I know you have more episodes of Grimm to watch!

I've been babying my back--ice, stretching, icy hot, etc. for a couple of weeks now, and today I finally feel some improvement. I'm hoping I'm on a healing trend that will allow me to give 100% in this challenge. The last one was pretty tough, fighting pain all the time or being too drugged up to function very well. I really hope to stop taking flexeril--makes me sleepy and dopey--although Jim says it also makes me say weird and funny things in my sleep, like "just toss him overboard" and "we only allow monkeys in here on Tuesdays." hahaha.... I have NO idea...

I hope you are all as excited as me to do this. Hopefully we can get a few others to join in!

Karen

I am in for the next 10 day 'wee' challenge. Much better to take baby step challenges rather that set myself up for failure for a long term one!

My goals for the next 10 days...I will start on Saturday the 20th also:
    1. Treadmill 10 out of 10 days-so that is 10 more episodes of GRIMM which takes me to the end of the season :-(
    2. No food after 6 pm
    3. Log food- this is by far the hardest goal for these 10 days!

Karen let's look at the logging of food in as....it takes 21 days to start a good habit, so if we log these 10 days...and then perhaps another 11 more...we will be getting into a new routine!! WE can do this!!! If you can log...so can I !! We have no excuses!!!! We WILL do it!!

(I guess my next TV series is gonna be Season 6 of Nurse Jackie after I finish GRIMM!)

Agreed, Nancy. Logging is so important and really easy with a smart phone app. I just don't want a record of what I REALLY eat, LOL.

I posted a 06.20.2015 misc ramblings.... after I did, I figured I'd join this challenge as it would be great for me.

So my challenge or goal for the next 10 days is to remove 1 processed food each day. Hopefully after a month or so, I will be eating a paleo/primal type eating plan.

Sounds great, Cari! I'm so happy you're here with Nancy and me.
Zac is camping in Yellowstone this week, but he's supposed to be logging his food too. Woohooo, go team MOBI MOTO!

I'm sticking with two of my goals--log everything and exercise daily. I think jumping right in to following a meal plan or eating clean is too big a leap right now, so my 3rd goal is to do ONE thing every day to move closer to my goal of clean eating. That can mean checking out a new farm or CSA, or researching recipes, or anything related.

I'm off to exercise in the lake--VERY chilly still, but I'm tough.

Actually, while I was writing that post, my neighbor's 8 year old popped his head through the door to see if I wanted to swim. 90 minutes of cavorting in the water with him and the other neighbor's 7 year old definitely counts as exercise!

I'm in! Thanks to Karen for the message so I was motivated to get back in here.
    1. 12,917+ steps/day (random-ish number was set by my husband after I said I wanted something a bit higher than 10k last summer)
    2. Log all food (been AGES since I kept up with this!!!)
    3. Go to the gym 5x (went back for the first time in ages Tuesday)

I am starting today...Monday June 21. With my time zone, I will be right behind you guys!

So I arrived to the challenge party a little late but I will start :)

I've had a rough week-2 weeks so I need back on track.
    1. Log ALL food daily
    2. Try to get in daily moving, even if just at home
    3. Not be so hard on myself

Hi Melissasue, and welcome. Never too late to join the party! Good luck on all your goals, especially not being so hard on yourself... always a tough one.
