I would love to check in with everyone daily and see how you are doing. I am going to have to start over tomorrow..the past four days have been challenging and I was not able to stick to the plan. How is everyone else doing?

Hello! At least those four challenging days aren't making you stop... good for you for getting back to it!
I think I unintentionally cheated this weekend. I ate out twice (well one was ordering in... but still). I got a burger patty at a grocery store, but was kind of weary of what was inside- seasonings, marinade, oil they cooked it in. And then I ordered in from a burger place on Sunday and got a turkey burger, but I'm almost positive there most have been something mixed in with the meat. Possibly flour or breadcrumbs, I'm not sure. All I know is a few hours after my stomach started turning and something wasn't agreeing with me.
Those two outings made me realize I need to make a better effort to cook at home (and at the boyfriend's). When I hang out with him, I tend to get lazy about what I eat, so going to make a better attempt to plan for the weekends with him. If only he would just do it with me!
I also need to make better use of my Sundays. I just can't get myself to meal prep for the week! But at least I hard boiled a few eggs for my mornings. Tonight I'm going to stop at Trader Joe's to pick up a few things, then make some coconut curry tonight Also gotta figure out some lunch options tonight so I'm not scrounging around. For lunch today going to go to the grocery store near by and pick up some shrimp and salsa I think. Craving some lean protein right now.
Hope everyone else is having a good start to their week!0 -
I was planning on making coconut curry tonight too! It will be my first time making it, so we will see how it will turn out. I'm on day 5 right now. I'm doing ok as now. It's when I'm at social functionings and am faced with tempting foods is when I usually go crazy. Saturday I have a wedding to go to so hopefully that won't happen!0

Sorry I was MIA. Out of town for my daughters dance competition. Overall did pretty well but didn't stay 100 percent on plan. Social events are so tough. Back at it now. Am loving my breakfast smoothies with kale, spinach, frozen berries, banana, pineapple, chia seeds and coconut milk. And I love salad for lunch. Looking for new ways to fix veggies so the family will eat them. Shishkabobs for tonight0

I'm starting the Whole 30 Tuesday now that the holiday weekend is over and I can prep.0

Yay that's awesome! How is Day 1 going?
So I made it to Day 21 with no slip ups.... then Fourth of July happened. I was good at first- scrambled eggs with guac for breakfast, then grilled steak kabobs on my new little grill. Whole 30 had really never tasted better!
But then I went to a carnival... I got a pork chop on a stick, so that was compliant, but most of the stands were only selling sugary lemonade so I caved. It was actually fairly disgusting how sweet it was, but I was thirsty.
One cheat was a very slippery slope for me unfortunately. That lemonade slip up led to a dippin dots slip up that night and then a chocolate chip pancake slip up the next morning... So needless to say I've been a bit off the past couple days, but today I am back!
Made some chicken drumsticks tonight and served them over roasted sweet potatoes and baby kale. (Recipe in the recipe thread). Soooo gooood! And it made enough for three servings, so tomorrow's lunch and dinner are already taken care of!
Only two weeks till my cousin's wedding in Myrtle Beach, so I really need to be good up until then. Went shopping this past weekend and I'm down a pant size! If I can keep this up, I can at the very least not feel bloated on the beach
How is everyone else doing? Everyone still with us or did some go astray like I did for a few days?0
