I'm going to try very hard to take the advice of today's threadstarter. I'm just not in a good head space right now. I'm overly tired, both physically and emotionally. I wake up early in the morning and can't get back to sleep, even though I feel tired, so I'm exhausted all day. My house is a mess because I'm so tired at night I don't have the energy to do anything. I should just get out of bed when I wake up early and get stuff done, but instead I keep hoping I'll fall back to sleep. My leg and my stitches are both healing, but the constant strain of having to always be vigilant about not doing anything to re-injure them is wearing on me. When I'm tired, I get emotional, and when I'm emotional things like good food choices tend to go out the window. So I need to start actively trying to have a better attitude. My leg was tired yesterday so I took a rest day and when I woke up this morning I wasn't super confident about it either so I decided not to get up and run as planned. If my leg feels okay I can do it tonight, and if it's still tired then my body is telling me to take it easy. I ran last on Tuesday and that went fine, but toward the end of my short bike ride in the evening it started to get tired. I've been asking a lot of it lately and it's telling me it's time to back off a little.
Hope everyone is doing well. Sherry it's interesting what you say about the food choices here. How is it different in Greece?0 -
Laura peace to you...try listening to a relaxation download, i have a few self hypnosis ones on bad sleep nights just for that.
Sherry, just read article, we are now up to 2/3 of all adults are overweight or obese in this country.
No wonder most places you eat out they give you enough food for 4 people then expect you to self regulate yourself and be good!
Southern food is the worst for calories but the flavors....yum. We are going to new orleans for anniversary in October. Love the food but....
Today is checking out a bunch of places for things for new house then back to Napa tomorrow. Found out place we are staying in southern Oregon is 108 all weekend and will be 104 when we get there. I didn't know it got that hot in the fir tree area....
Praying for the fire guys this summer and I don't pray!0 -
Marla my personal trainer's friend is doing an Ironman in Idaho this weekend and the forecast there is 107 on race day. He doesn't like really hot temps and his last Ironman took him about 12 hours, so he's pretty nervous about holding up that long in that kind of heat. Their average high temp is mid-70s for that time of year, so whatever is hitting Oregon is apparently also going to be in Idaho.
I ended up having a pretty good day, without having to work too hard on my attitude. It's nearly 8:00 pm so I better get myself moving - need to pack up my gear for tomorrow. I switched my Friday morning Jason slot with another one of his clients so now I have him at 6:00 instead of 6:30. I usually leave the house around 6:00 so need to remember tomorrow to get on the road earlier.0
