Woohoo!! Day 3 ! (no I am not on happy pills today! BUT I am one of those disgusting morning persons!!)

Ok, I hope everyone wakes up and feels ready to meet Day 3 of this challenge!!! I did...did my treadmill this morning, and my knees are feeling better for it too!! Amazing what a bit of movement can do for you!!!

I won't ramble on ...I am at work, so need to start to 'shred' and clean out stuff! Although I started that about a month ago..so not much more to sort out at work. I now can officially start to remove personal items from my office, like photos, paintings and stuff I have brought in!

Have a GREAT Day THREE everyone!!
Cheers,
N

I'm functional. Yesterday was good overall. I just didn't get today started like normal, because due to some unplanned intermittent fasting yesterday, today I want to eat a whole horse... So I feel kind of off schedule. Plus here in the US, tomorrow is a holiday. So I have a short workday today, and a holiday tomorrow, so I have a sense of short-timer syndrome, where i have 1000 things to do but don't want to do them... I will though, shortly.

And I've become much more of a happy morning person since changing my way of eating, so :)...

    HELLO Day 3!

I'm back on amitriptyline and just getting my day started at 10:45 a.m.

The houseguests are at the beach, boogie boarding in 6 foot waves. The husband is running errands. The cat is snoozing at my feet.

Today I drink lots of water and flush the sugar out of my system. It doesn't belong there! Any baked goods left in the house are going in the trash.

The sun is out, so I'll get my swim time in with no issues.

Nancy, enjoy your early weekend! What a strange feeling it must be to really be done after 30 years! Hurrah for new adventures! Carly, you're doing great--love the blog posts.

Made it thru Day 3. Exercise 'check', Food 'check', no eating after 6pm 'check' (it is 6:05 pm!), Recipe for salad dressing (Raspberry Vinaigrette) in my purse to take with me to the supermarket tomorrow 'check'!!

Yeah...off tomoro!! And Carly, thanks for reminding me of the 4th of July!! Something I don't celebrate here!! But sure would not mind an all beef hot dog!!!

Karen - my ex used to (and probably still does) take amitriptlyine, but he had to take it at night due to the tired factor. Is that something you could possibly do? Or do you need the side effects of the medication at a specific time of day? Just a thought.

That trash is HUNGRY - feed it! Hee hee... I'm glad you'll get to swim today...

Btw, you know that suit you sent me last year that fit like a glove? Guess what? Shrunk out of it! LOL

Sorry about the blogs on the feed. I had a lot of stress burdening me horribly these last few months, and now due to my BFF helping me work through some things, all the remnants of that stress are bursting out of me in blog form! LOL I've written quite a lot in the last two weeks. Maybe I just need to shut up! ;) Totally kidding.

I can't fathom doing something so brave, Nancy... I've been at my job 9 years next month...and it's...comfortable? I get my fulfillment from helping friends here...

I'm not big on celebrations (my fiance is a Veteran, and let's just say that fireworks and PTSD are a horrific combo), but we do things together... I might even buy some hotdogs for the occasion, but I honestly don't know how I'd eat them! (I could only tolerate them on a bun and smothered in chili and cheese or ketchup and mustard....neither are low carb friendly.) Maybe opt for brats?? Hmm....food for thought.

Carly, I know the feeling of 1000 things to do and not wanting to a darn one of them. I'm right there with ya. I cannot wait for this WOE to help me be a morning person again. Sorry to hear about your Fiance's PTSD, I know how hard that is. I love hotdogs with just cheese and a tblspn of ketchup on them. I know ketchup isn't carb friendly so I get the low sugar one. No difference in taste at all.

Karen, great job in putting the left over baked goods in the trash just where they belong. I agree with Carly, the trash is hungry. Enjoy your swim.

Nancy, great job on day 3.

My day 3 has been horrible. Now we aren't even going out for my mom's b'day. My father is in congestive heart failure and until they get his heart rthym stable he'll continue to feel horrible. So tonight we are eating at home and I'm going over Reggie's afterwards to see what the heck is going thru his head. Long story. Time to start making my list for Vegas. At least vacation will keep my mind off some of this BS.

Day three has been okay for me. Nothing spectacular, but passable. If I saw my day three walking by on the street I would most likely take no notice of it whatsoever. That being said I am excited for tonight. For one I don't work tomorrow and for two I am going to be playing either tennis or racquetball tonight and that makes me happy. Hopefully everyone can have a great weekend full of fun and low on calories.

Looks like we all wrapped up a pretty darn good Day 3!!! Congrats to all!!

Also looks like we are handling some of our personal issues pretty darn good too!! We do have the power to do this!! If WE don't take control our of own lives...there is no one else out there that is going to do it!! This is NOT being selfish...this is being realistic!! WE can take control of our food, our exercise and even our physical pain (with medication if need be or yoga or even meditation/hot packs/cold packs/ice packs...whatever!!). We also have the power to manage our 'time'....doing things for ourselves and others if we so choose !

Have a great sleep folks...tomorrow is Day 4!! (and so mine begins.....as usual on the computer with you guys and a cat or two on the table as I type!! lol)

Rest well!!! And wake up refreshed and raring to go for day 4!!!!!

    xoxo n

Cari...sorry to hear about your dad. I hope his CHF clears up. Hard to breath with that as the congestion backs up to the lungs. Hang in there....VEGAS here you come!! Zac...Racquetball!! Gosh have not heard about that for years...used to love to do that!!! I would trip and break my head wide open if I got on the court now! lol Karen...hope you trashed the calories/carbs...and moved forward...with minimal pain! Carly...I never am big on celebrations either....maybe look at it differently...hit the sales whether it is food sales, mid summer sales, plant sales etc!! lol And I can't eat buns...thus the all beef hot dogs...I think they are called 'Nathans'...all kosher ...yummy!!! (Just don't describe to me what is in them....I only eat them about twice a year when I go home to AZ!

Very lazy day 3 for me. After yesterday's festival of pain, I did the amitriptyline thing (yes, Carly, I take it at bedtime) and couldn't keep my eyes open today! Jim just now reminded me (when I said I felt terrible about sleeping off and on all day) that I need to do what I need to do and to stop worrying about it.

Yes, sweets/carbs went in the trash! Bye bye, good riddance!

Tomorrow will be a busy day of prepping for our July 4 party (about 24 guests). I have lots of healthy stuff on the menu, including fruit salad, veggie tray, salad, roasted cauliflower, etc. Water balloon wars, *kitten*, floating on the lake, fake tattoos, fireworks--It's our big shindig for the year, so we like to do it up.

My head is only half in the challenge game right now, but I'm not stepping out. I will log my food before bed and do my maintenance activity now.

Haha, Zac! "If I saw my day three walking by on the street I would most likely take no notice of it whatsoever." Love this!

Sleep well, USA time zoners! Enjoy Day 4 Lise and Nancy!

Nancy, thanks for the kind words. Yes, he's having a tough time of it right now. He does have a Dr. appt with a specialist on Tuesday, so here's hoping.
